Oh my gosh! You wrote back! Thank you! Thank you!

yes it’s done by endoscopy now - totally out patient. I was wondering if you did it as a first surgery or revision I’m doing it as a first - surgeons okay with this! Did you notice weight loss right away, same as other surgeries or is it slower but more permanent ( this is how I understand it)

What do you wish you had known Before? Did you loose your hair?

I’m paying for it out of pocket so 🤦‍♀️ Yikes! Would you still choose this one over any other surgeries! I was pretty much sold on the outpatient aspect but I’m wondering why not many places do it?

I have to fly out of the state I live in to get it done! Still within the Us but I would have liked for there to be something closer to me!

thank you again for getting back to me!

neeta 😌

Absolutely no problem! I’m glad I saw your post. Since the surgery is relatively unknown I had no one to ask, so I promised myself to answer anyone who were in the same situation 🙂

1. this was my first (and only) surgery and I’m so happy I chose the sasi bypass! I have had absolutely no problems and minor problems with food (say bye bye to pancakes as your first meal of the day 😂)

2. The first month I was able to eat half a yoghurt, so the weight loss came straight ahead. Please remember that there will be times when you don’t loose weight, up to 2-3 months; these are the times when your body changes the most. Embrace these periods instead of hating them 😎

3. I lost my hair BIG TIME so whatever you can do to prevent this.. 😂 And that is the one thing I wish I knew before the surgery. I looked like a muppet at one point 🙈

I have absolutely no problem recommending this type of surgery for people who are larger than what the sleeve will help you with. I was 150kg and have been steady at around 72kg for a year. I am 180cm. I’m on vacay, so you do the lbs/ft calculation please 😂

That’s okay, before I moved to the states I used the same metric system and still to this day have to convert things to understand them! I guess there’s no way to go around the Hair loss, but I’m told it’s less that traditional wls surgeries! So I’ll take it.
I’m 164cm and 100kgs! I need to get this down to about 65!

i didn’t think we get any restriction food wise. They don’t touch the size of the stomach right? Why weren’t you able to eat the entire yoghurt?
i went to boarding school for a long time - i can’t stand pancakes or eat meal cause that’s what we lived off for all the 5 years I was there.

Not looking forward to plateauing so thank you for this reminder and I’ll remember to come to this post when I’m feeling defeated.

Enjoy your vacation! And thank you, with all my heart!

Now I’m not sure if it’s the same procedure. With my sasi they removed most of the stomach, same as the sleeve and made a second hole from the mini-stomach and connected to the intestines (??) so the food has two escape routes 😂 Sorry for my bad surgical english skills 😂

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
