I never had one and I never heard of anyone having one. Did you have a laparoscopic surgery? Maybe its used for when you have an open surgery then you have a binder? With the laparoscopic surgery you just have tiny little incisions; I was sent home with little pieces of surgical tape on mine.

I had my sleeve done laparoscopically. I thought everyone got one. It helped a lot for me personally

I guess it must be another one of those surgeon choice/differences. Until today I never heard of anyone having a binder other than people who had plastic surgery. Learning something different

No binder for me. I also thought it was mainly used post-PS. I never had issues with my incisions that made me want or need to protect them.

I have never heard of one and obviously didn’t use one. However, I am so hardcore I didn’t take any pain meds post surgery and I pulled my own drain and branded the hole shut with a hot fire poker.

I’m one month post-op and I don’t need to wear my binder anymore for my incisions however I like wearing it to the gym and for work (I have a very physical job, up and down ladders, lifting and bending down). I like the support it gives me.
Anyone else do this?

I wore won after hernia surgery in 1999. But I've never heard of anyone wearing one after VSG.

Most people don't have them post weight loss surgery. Mine was a year ago and I didn't have one or need one. The incisions are so tiny. I did have a drain for a couple of days, which is rare. The binder must be even more rare, I have only heard of them being used after plastic surgery. I also did not have bandages to change. My incisions were covered with super sticky surgical tape. I was told NOT to pull it off but to let it fall off on its own. It took weeks to fall off (yes, I showered daily) which was fine with me. My scars are minimal.

I’ve had my sleeve 1 week ago today. I haven’t walked yet as still very sore, weak and nauseous. I’m worried as everyone is walking and I’m not able yet. Finding it hard to get in protein.[emoji22]

You need to make yourself get up and walk or you will get blood clots. Once and hour I got up and just made a few laps around the house unless I was sleeping.< br>
The nausea can be caused by dehydration. Sip, sip, sip your Water.< br>
I was really slow being able to get my Protein in. Even two or three weeks post op I struggled to get a couple of shakes down a day. It took me hours to finish each one so I was sipping all day.

Recovery was very slow for me but please talk to your doctor. Dehydration is a dangerous thing. That being said you have a raw, torn up stomach. It takes weeks for the staple line to fully heal. I know it seems like most people are eating again no big deal but be patient with yourself.
