Yeah. I had one about 3 years out. Never had them before. It started as a slight pain in my back on one side. Felt like a pulled something at first. Aftet about 3 days of that, I then had to pee about every 5 mins off and on for about 2 days. Then the pain started to increase and I ended up lying on the basement floor for about 30 mins in excruciating pain. I then realized what it was. The next 4 days my bladder hurt and it felt like I was peeing razor blades. I drank a lot of Water during that time in hope to get it to pass. It did finally and everything cleared up about a week later.

About an hour before I passed it I made an appointment with a urologist. When I met with him he said the nature of gastric bypass will limit the absorbtion of Calcium. Calcium helps reduce kidney stones. When I go next month for my yearly gastric bypass visit I'm going to ask if I should increase my calcium intake.

I hope you aren't getting a kidney stone. It was probably the worst pain I have ever felt.

Should feel it in your back, right below or at your lowest rib.

Well , its not in my back or my rib, so maybe I'm lucky and do not have it. Maybe it's because I'm out of shape.

Where exactly is the pain? Might be gallbladder. I'd go see the Dr if it doesn't get better soon.

I've had both types of stones Calcium and Muric Acid. (pre-surgery)

The Muric ones pass with much less pain. I did not really feel it until it was getting closer to my bladder. The calcium stones usually will bring you to tears as it passes. The pain does usually start in the lower flank. My kidneys usually feel like they are contracting (not sure how else to explain it). As the stone moves, the location of the pain will move with it.

A urine test is an easy way to quickly determine if kidney stones are an issue. If you are passing any blood (not always visible) or Protein in your urine they will probably do more tests. Calcium stones show up really well on an x-ray.

If it's a stone it could be moving and that's why it's not hurting in your back. I've actually had stones to block the urethra opening into my bladder and have to have surgery to remove it. Being a female the pain was worse than having a baby. Labor pains come and go, this pain is steady with no relief in between.

Amen! I've had four drug free labors and I will take that over a kidney stone ANY day! I've also experienced the full realm of stones from the easy, stints, lithotripsy, and even had kidney stones during my last two pregnancies.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
