Anyone sleeve the week of 6/25?

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on the 6/26 and the first 2 days were brutal. I cried, I regretted the surgery, I was angry, nauseous, in pain, afraid to drink... all of the possible cons that you could think of I dealt with, but thankfully all of that has subsided ! The biggest thing I recommend is making sure to take your recommended antacids and gas medicine. The pain I thought was from my incisions was mostly gas pain. So getting up and walking around, and getting off my pain medicine is what helped me the most, because I could better determine what type of pain I was feeling. Also get on the scale, in just 6 days I've lost 11lbs. Seeing the weight drop so quickly has made those tough days worth it.

I had Gastric Bypass on June 27. I don't have any problems getting fluids down.
My Dr has me drink one oz of Water every fifteen minutes. I look forward to the 1oz of cream of wheat and pudding. I don't think I get hungry it's probably head hunger. I am adding more 1 oz Protein Shake shots today.
My pain is mostly from gas. I hope my surgery worked. It's weird that I am not experiencing what everyone else is.
Is anyone else getting their fluids down no problem?

I had surgery 6/29. I cried this morning but I also hadn't taken children's Tylenol yet so I was feeling all of it at once. Ive spent the day walking around, reading, talking to friends about my progress via text and watching on demand shows. Find something to do and walk around a lot. Good luck to you!

Are you folks who are dealing with gas having bowel movements? If you are not having b.m.s then try stool softeners, my doc recommended me to use them.

Had mine 6/28 doing great now onto phase 2 full liquids until day 13 then move to phase 3 purée foods. I have no issues getting down the liquids bought unflavored Protein to add to Soup. Still having gas no solid BM yet. Although I don't like pain meds taking them twice a day to control BP calling my general dr tomorrow

Anyone else neevous? I'm doing what I'm supposed to and I think I'm okay but I keep freaking out about getting a leak or a blood clot. Any little pain in my legs puts me in a panic attack. I'm driving my husband nuts I'm sure. I just hate feeling off.

Sleeved on Wednesday - no issues

I was also sleeved on Wed. Are you having hungry pains? Seems like my stomach rumbles all the time. Feel as if I haven't even had surgery. No pain. No problems drinking fluids etc. feeling scared surgery was not successful

I feel great - not hungry - but if I was I would have a shake or protien- I had my first BM today - I was sent home with senna to take every night.

It reminds me of having a baby - you take your time and the new bowel and habits develop. It's fun!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
