First day back in Zumba

Recommended Posts

Omg...I feel like a failure. I made it through 30 minutes and quit. Tell me it gets easier...Pre surgery I knocked out an hour several times a week.

I never did Zumba, but I am feeling pretty energized with the running program I have started.

Maybe you need to up your Protein. Are you taking your Vitamins?

You will get it back. It takes a while to build back up to the level you were before. Recovery from surgery and getting used to fewer calories takes the body a while to come back.

I used to do it, about 13 years ago. Zumba is not the same as it was years ago when it first came out in the US...I think about 2004 or 5 maybe. It was strictly latin dance, but now it's mostly hip hop...but having said that, it's still a great workout. I just miss the original moves. (But I'm a former latin dancer that WAS in the making as well-very partial to the old stuff) Like the above posters mentioned, you'll build up your endurance back up. Give it some time....when did you have your surgery?

....don't ask why i gave a lesson about Zumba, I do not even know why!....LOL :)

My surgery was about 6 weeks ago. TBH, my Protein intake isn't high because meat will NOT stay down. I am killing the Water game however. LOL

If it helps, right after surgery I could not run a tenth of a mile now I can run 7 miles if I push myself. You will.build.up energy and endurance as you continue to heal, hang in there!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
