Any August 2017 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

My surgery date is August 3! I'm on day 2 of my 14 day liquid diet and I'm finding it pretty miserable so far. I just can't wait for surgery day and get on with it already.

I got my date today! August 11th. I live in SC but am going to FL to see Dr Taggar, about 10 hours away.

I'm low bmi, and I tried to go the insurance route, but it didn't work out, so I'm now self pay ($8899). I have really high BP, cholesterol and arthritis. I am definitely not a healthy fat person! I'm an unhealthy "not that fat" person (as some love to say). And I look forward to changing my relationship with food.

I have a ton of work to do, online psych evaluation, visit my PCP for EKG, blood work and clearance. Oh, and do a pre op nutrition class via Facebook live.

No real pre op diet, but I've been doing shakes a few times a day for over a month. I will probably do my own liquid diet a few days ahead of time. I've lost 10# so far.

Dr tagger is still running that special ? I didn't see it on his website . Wow I'm also low BMI which is 32 and originally going to Mexico due to the outrages prices I get here in the US. If I can get the same deal I might just switch over.

I just booked yesterday so I'm sure he is. I had great results emailing them, I heard back like next day, got a consult within a week and booked yesterday. I haven't put anything down yet, partial payment due 2 weeks prior to surgery, then the rest the day of.

BTW, there are some differences between him and Dr wizman. I think Dr wizman uses two facilities and offers BLIS insurance. Dr Taggar only uses coral springs medical center and doesn't offer BLIS.

I would have been happy with either, I think.

Hi im Niseys4 here in Sunny Southern Caifornia! My Dr is Dr Fedorka with Kaiser. I was orginally scheduled for November 1st. Guess what happened..... I called my Drs appt center just to see if there were any cancellations. She said NO but would send a message to my Drs nurse to keep me in mind should there be any cancellations later. Well I got a call from the appt nurse this morning just letting me know she received my msg & would be sure to put me at the top of the list should there be any. Then about 3 hrs later she called me back saying there were 3 sooner dates due to cancellations & I got 1st pick![emoji3] so now im scheduled for August 16th![emoji122]

Just wanted to put this out there for those soon to be surgeries. I've read so much about how bad the gas will be the first few days and the necessity for the Gas-X DISSOLVABLE Strips. You might want to get them ahead of time. They may not be easily found in stores (although Wal-Greens has them). They were about $6.00 per 18pkg, recommended 2-3 at a time. Wal-Mart does not carry them in store(or not in all stores) CVS does not either. Amazon had them listed from about $9 up to $30. Crazy prices. It's been said they are discontinuing them but I suspect they will probably come back at a higher price due to increasing needs due to bariatric surgeries etc...All I could find were the mint flavored but I'll probably need them for fresh breath anyway. I got 4 boxes to be safe....I had to order because our nearest Walgreens is 50 miles away. Trying to make sure I have everything needed for the first week or two. Found that zero Gatorade too. I'm just ready to get this party started. Cooking supper tonight, all I could think of was how I'm going to miss my veggies. Crazy right, ok with giving up alcohol and Desserts, I'm going to miss my steamed veggies, cabbage, asparagus. I only have a 24 hr liquid diet but, I'm going to start a week earlier and be diligent the last 3 days. Dr. said no need but this is one time I'm going to go with my gut. I'll abide by his orders afterwards. (smile) Have a great weekend everyone!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
