Why shouldn't eat solid food till 6weeks

Recommended Posts

HI all, Jana from Sri lanka I did my mini gastric bypass surgery on last Monday which is 9days ago, my weight was 150kg and after 9days it's 137kg which I'm happy about it, my doctor adviced me to take only liquid for 2weeks and blended Soup for next 4weeks, but I cannot tied my mouth then and there I'm eating small piece of chicken! Is it bad? I didn't get any difference on my bowel moment. Can anyone advice me on this?

TIA

I would recommend you follow your doctor's orders. I had RNY gastric bypass whereas you had the mini gastric bypass. After surgery my stomach was in a major heal mode for the first couple months. Even after a couple months I found it very difficult to consume hard foods such as steak and chicken. So since you had surgery 9 days ago, I really recommend you give your stomach a little time to heal properly.

Surgeons have different programs, and you should follow your surgeons program.

I have been eating food since day 4 (with restrictions), as per my surgeons program, but that doesn't mean it's okay for everyone if their surgeon has a different program.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
