Cheated on post op diet

Recommended Posts

I am 3 month post op & 45 lbs lost.....but guys I blew it this week !!! Blew it big time. All of my bad habits crept back & I allowed myself to eat a ton of simple carbs. I ate frequently. I ate till I was uncomfortably full & experienced terrible guilt afterwards. It was as if the past 3 months didn't happen. I am so ashamed of myself but more importantly so worried that I may not get back on track tomorrow.

So what triggered this all day food fest? How was the day before - did any life stress happen, or doubt, not enough sleep, worry, an event, what?

All of the sleeves in the world won't make a bit of difference if you don't change your relationship with food. I would get back to basics tomorrow and devote yourself 100% to doing what you need to do. I seem to remember you asking about carbs a while back. If I were you, I get my carbs reduced, journal everything you put into your body, and eat within defined parameters.

Good luck!

2 things triggered this fall....1 was a very stressful week & another was my over confidence with my 45 lb weight loss. A bad combo but a good lesson !!!

Back on the wagon. I use Fitness Pal religiously & yet no app could control my destructive behavior.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
