6 weeks post op- what can i eat?

Recommended Posts

Pretty much only eating yogurt, cottage cheese and some ground meats...anything else?

I eat most of whatever soft foods - I had bib lettuce with ham and cheese rolls - two tiny ones with mustard - it was yummy
I had clam chowder and Manhattan style too- 1/2 cup but like 1/4 cup at the time
I ate 1/2 fish patty
Avocado with tuna - I found this tiny tuna cans and one can suffice for two meals
- egg white and a bite of sausage from a McDonald's sandwich - order no butter no cheese and - I didn't ate the bread - egg for Breakfast and sausage for lunch - I keep ready to drink Protein powders in my bad as well as light and fit yogurt which I add Protein Powder or Peanut Butter powder - those are my go to kind of foods - oh and sugar free popsicles
I'm in my fifth week now - :)

i'm a little over 5 months post surgery. I'm still struggling with what to eat. For Breakfast I eat a hard boiled egg and a yogurt or a scrambled egg. Sometimes I'll eat a little fruit. For lunch its usually a Protein Drink, a salad with broiled chicken, chili from Wendys or sliced turkey wrapped with cheese . For Supper its usually shrimp or talapia or tuna . I don't have a lot of variation simply because its so hard to swallow certain things and I don't want to waste my money, I often fall back to the Protein Drinks simply to get in my Protein and it just makes everything simple. I haven't tried the Peanut Butter powder but may do some very soon.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
