You look fantastic!

I stalled out more than an old car in need of repairs, haha, but I eventually reached my goal. My longest stall lasted for months, and then boom, I started dropping again. One perk of my body taking its sweet time in losing weight is that I don't have loose skin, and never lost much hair. So the stalls, while frustrating at the time, were beneficial overall.

Yes! These stalls are so discouraging! I am hoping that the slower loss will result in no loose skin for me too. So far so good. I am eating healthier than I ever have, so I am just trusting in the process, and progress will come. I am human though, so I do get discouraged from time to time. It's times like these when I whip out the pictures or the measuring tape to remind myself that the scale isn't the only tool to measure my progress.

If you change the way you think about stalls you can end up liking them the most.

I like my stalls the best because I get the most physical changes during my stalls and my body improves. scale loss is kind of useless compared to the inch loss in stalls and my fat rearranging itself. During a stall I might lose a dress size, when I am dropping weight, I hardly ever get smaller, I just weigh less.

Thank you. I am having a really really hard time with this. I will be 4 weeks post op in two days. I have not lost a pound in two weeks!? How is that possible? I don't understand it. I get that there would be stalls but not like this and not so soon. I am so discouraged. I feel like I am doing something wrong.

The vast majority of people experience the "dreaded three week stall" after having WLS, though sometimes it comes a bit sooner or later. That is most likely what you're going through right now. If you do a keyword search about the stall you'll find heaps of threads here about it with tips. You haven't done anything wrong. Your body just needs some time to adjust. It's been through a major surgery, radical eating changes, and weight loss all in a rush. You will start losing again. Just persevere. My stall broke when I increased my calories. Basically I'd been consuming far too calories, so my body thought it was starving and was holding onto to everything I took in to help protect me. It relaxed when I started having more calories.

I was feeling sorry for myself because I've been up and down the same pound for a week. I did my measurements yesterday and when I look at the overall progress 3 months out, it makes me happy. I will get there, this isn't a quick fix. 😉

I agree! I increased calories and started dropping again.

How did you go about increasing your calories? My dietitian meal plan says to eat three meals a day and should have minimal snacking but I'm only 6 weeks out and there's no way I can consume enough food/calories in one meal. I'm thinking I might have to have Snacks anyway just to get more calories and Protein in.

I'm feeling exactly the same way.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
