Good! No way I would have been able to do them myself. My wife was kind enough to give me all of the shots I needed. The one that really hurt was when she got my credit card bill.... wonder why that was? Lol!

Yes I got sent home with those shots too. Probably because of complications I had during surgery. It is too important to not take these shots. A blood clot post surgery is a real possibility.

I got the lovenox to take home also. I've been doing it for 5 days already. It's so much easier than I thought it would be. I don't even feel it. The needle is tiny. I spent time before surgery worrying about it. In retrospect worrying was the biggest waste of time.

Thank you all for kindly responding. I did speak to my dr about it yesterday. He said it was just precautionary and he just does everything he can to prevent clots. If I don't do them most likely I'll be fine but it's more like insurance. He still suggested I do it. But if I choose not to then ok. I still feel guilty for not doing so I may to get at least a few in during the time frame. I am already very active so I know that helps. Weird thing is I'm not afraid of needles. Idk what's holding me back. I think it's trying to do it to myself. I'll see if it's easier letting my husband do it. Thanks again!

It's better for me when someone else does it. I totally get that! The risk of thinning your blood to a dangerous level is much lower than the risk of developing a clot. Once you have a clot you'll be on blood thinning meds for a minimum of six months. So these few shots could potentially save you months of Coumadin (not to mention the weekly blood draws to make sure your blood it in range). Gotta think long term. It's a dangerous thing to roll the dice with. I NEVER thought I'd develop a clot, yet here I am.
Anyway I'm not trying to lecture you just trying to help you be safe. :)

Thank you all. I need up only doing one shot. In retrospect I wish I hadn't made such a big deal about it but the time I needed them has now past. Fortunately I did not develop a clot.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
