Bad week on diet.

Recommended Posts

Still not feeling the restriction I hoped to have. Have had my first fill 1.5 weeks ago. I have a 10ml band and have 7mls. So a combination of disappointment, PMT and being busy at work has ended up being a bad week food wise

It happens. We all have bad weeks. Tomorrow is another day!

Sounds like you aren't in the green zone yet. You'll know it! In the meanwhile, make good choices

Thank you. Hope I can get an appointment for another fill soon. How many mls untill the band is working properly?

Sometimes the band is only expected to take the edge off of eating/drinking/ cycle. I often wish it could do more.

That means that you are also going to have to eat like a bandster.
You know. The Protein first. Chewing a lot. No Fluid for x minutes after... your dr usually tells you. Drink a lot of Water. And exercise!
(The band I have is an ancient 4 ... filled currently w/ 1.5
Maintaining about 95 lb weight loss )
Sorry, I wish I had better news about Lap band living, but I think it just trained me after all these years.
It is hard work almost every day.... but I won't go back.
Good luck. Please keep posting.
(Banded 12/06)

It totally varies. I just had a bit taken out. I know I didn't feel anything until about four months out from surgery. The surgeon said I would - and I did. Be patient....

I agree with the others - it does take time and it can be frustrating. I didn't feel restriction until my last fill - I have a 10cc band and I now have 4cc in my band. It's taking me a long time to finish a meal and I have to take tiny bites. I feel like I'm now in the "green zone" that others talk about. But you do have to work with the band - eating your Protein, small bites, chewing slowly. Hoping you feel that restriction soon!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
