Empty calories. High sugar content. Empty carbs. High fructose corn Syrup. The list goes on and on. The biggest thing is once post-op, a lot of people can't tolerate the carbonation. I'm lucky that I can, but I stay far away from soda because there is no health benefit to it at all.

I took a swallow of mt dew and I could feel it in my pouch. It was painful and burned. I won't try it again.

I am ok with carbonation but choose not to drink anything carbonated...it isn't good for bone density and there is really no benefit to it.

My surgeon told me never again. I cried so much since I was a heavy coca-cola addict since age 5! Had several a day. I got sleeved 9/27 and I haven't looked back! Don't drink it! I won't even contemplate a sip I'm afraid I'll go back to it. So I had to divorce it!

The carbonation will cause your sleeve/pouch to expand possibly stretching it out some. It will take more volume to feel full and you'll get less benefit from your weight loss surgery.

This is something we all could easily do without - and if you have some sort of extreme dependence or emotional attachment then your mental health issues should be dealt with as well.

I promise after your first sip when you wanna die you'll forget about your obsession lol. I knew it would hurt but had to touch the flame and try but then I was good. Eventually I could drink it in moderation but it's not a go to drink anymore.

I have asked my doctor the same question, im a redbull addict and going a day without it gives me endless Migraines. He said its an easy way to gain all your weight back, plus you might not be able to tolerate it early on.

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
