Literally after walking on day 3 my lower right site started dripping blood tinged clear Fluid and it is day 5 and still dripping! After calling the doc this is normal but gross still and occurs at the most active times which are also most inconvenient... this is not a stretch by any means when I repeat it drips ... anyone else have this?

I had laparoscopic bypass and the sites are small and sewed internally and glued externally doc said no worries [emoji846] just gross and a lot I read a lot online and some folks say there docs said it was fat dripping I'm not sure bout that but I get the Fluid found an easy way out theory

As a previous post surgical nurse and a post op RNY patient I can assure you leaking from an incision site is not normal. If this doesn't subside I highly recommend you be seen by your surgeon. Sounds like one of your incisions hasn't sealed properly. Good luck!

I had a drain for a week and a half after surgery -- that's pretty much what the Fluid looked like. Had to put on dressings -- cotton pads and tape, changed them every time they were soaked through, a few times a day.

But that was the point of the drain, to collect the Fluid until the output was low enough.

If it doesn't clear up in a few days, probably want to call your surgeon's office and see if a nurse will take a look at it for you to see if you need to be stitched up.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
