Hello everyone my revision from sleeve to RNY was April 11th. Everything went well. Pain was controlled very well. At no point was it intolerable. I came home Thursday evening. My biggest problem is gas. My stomach and back is filled with gas and nothing's moving it. I've been walking taking gas-x using heating pad. Nothing is working. Just sent my hubby to the drug store to grab mylacon drops and hope maybe that will help. Any suggestions on the gas?. Silly me put on a sports bra to go to the store to grab Protein Water and the darn sports bra ripped the glue right out of the incision between my breast. It look like it will be ok but I asked my hunny to grab some steri strips as well. I don't know what the heck I was thinking. Thought since it wasn't a wire it would be ok.

Ouch! I'm a shortie and can totally imagine how that could happen!

Did anyone else put on a ton of weight from all the Iv fluids and gas? I came on 11lbs heavier than what I weighed in the hospital the afternoon of surgery.

This totally happened to me when I had my son. I left the hospital 5lbs heavier than when I came in! Those Ivs and swelling.

I didn't check my weight for two days post op but I did pee a lot in those two days and most of it was from iv fluids. I would ask my doctor but it could just be that you've taken in more fluids than released. Hope you find relief soon!!!

I gained 10 lbs from the IV fluids. So frustrating, even though it's temporary. In fact, about five of us had our surgeries the same day in the same hospital, and we ALL gained. Our doctor said it's the nurses' fault for pumping us all full of fluid! LOL!

I was told to lay on my left side if I could and rub my tummy, kind of patting it gently too. It has helped me with getting rid of some of the gas.

so sorry to hear of your sports bra mishap. Sounds painful!! Wishing you lots of luck with recovery and gas issues.

I had surgery on April 11th and it went well but I had to stay in the hospital an extra day because of my kidneys. The combination of medications that I was on before surgery and the anesthesia that was given to me before and medications after surgery had an effect on my kidneys. Everything is well, the only issues I had have slightly now is gas pains. I found that walking helps the ease of my pain from gas. The only issue I have now is trying to get my my daily recommended water and protein intake.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
