I got sleeved on the 13th. My goal is to get off of my CPAP by the end of the year. My BMI was 37 at surgery and if I can get it into the mid twenties and sleep peacefully and wake up rested, it will have been worth it. The monotony of the Liquid Protein diet 7 days post-op is a drag but the weight is coming off and the possibility of life without my CPAP machine is great motivation. Wish me luck and best of luck to everyone here!

This is one of my main goals as well. I hate wearing my CPAP. I'm hoping I'm one of the cases that can go off of it once I hit a healthy BMI, but I don't know. My surgery is on Monday morning, so I'll see you on the loser's bench very soon. Good luck on your recovery and I hope you can get off your machine even months before the year is over.

Awesome! Best of luck girl. I find out what time I'll be going on on Monday for surgery, Sunday night I am to freaking excited!!! I've worked hard to get here can't wait to reach ONEderland emoji1380.png

I know, I was thinking about reaching onderland yesterday. Crazy isn't it? Very surreal.

When I had all my final appointments last Monday, everyone from the anesthesiologist's nurse to my doctor's nurse, to my dietician, to my lab tech all talked the same talk, 'When you're 155...". No one said if, they all said when, because losing the majority of this weight is going to happen. I'll be honest. Up until December 21, 2016, I was ok if I died. I didn't see there was any way to lose 150-200 pounds at my age (41). I didn't want to live like this being so limited and achy all the time and I was just tired. This surgery is truly a miracle for many of us.

I'm 43 and the aches and pains are exactly why I'm doing this surgery next Wednesday. I keep reading the success stories and I get excited thinking that might be me next year.....praying that it will be me next year as I don't want to fail. I need to get healthy. As you stated, this surgery will be a miracle for me. All the very best for Monday!

I wish love and support to all the CPAP users (is that how you even spell it?). I am also one of them - I must admit that NOT having it was worse. I got in alot of car accidents and would fall asleep at red lights I was so exhausted. Plus my teenagers would yell, ;MOM YOU SOUND LIKE DARTH VADER WHEN YOU SNORE!!'

It would be so wonderful to think that my airway isn't closing repeatefly (like more than 100 times a night) because I am so overweight! To think I could shift in bed better (I almost wrote '****' because my F key is wonky!! ha ha that was probably next)

In any case, I am wishing all CPAC / CPAP / CCRAP ha ha machines to be retired to the fat hall of fame.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!

THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE!!

Also Cass, when is your surgery? I see that you're only 250 pounds. My gosh, girl. You'll be at goal probably six months after surgery.

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
