I'm on the full liquid diet now; I have been eating Soups, but I just realized my list said no Beans.. & I've been eating taco Soup. I'm terrified with every drink& every bite I'm going to mess up my sleeve / stretch it out..

Any advice on that ? I have my nutrition visit next Tuesday but I'm just curious as to what anyone thinks.. how much should I be eating ? Will me eating Beans effect anything that much ? post-308447-14842799622102_thumb.jpg

If you stopped eating Beans and you feel nothing out of the ordinary, good, you've probably done no damage. The language of your message, however, indicates that you're still eating them. Your gut is in your hands.

Not just bites of beans.. I just mean in general , when I eat anything or drink anything. I'm not eating Beans anymore since I just seen I'm supposed to avoid them rn.. strange thing is it doesn't hurt my stomach or bother me so that's what worries me.

Did you blend & strain the Soup?

I didn't blend, no. Wouldnt that just make it chunkier?

On full liquids, you should only be having strained cream Soups and broths. Some docs allow sugar free pudding, fudge pops and cottage cheese. Mine did. I still mainly drank shakes.

I drink about 2/3 Protein shakes a day; the boost kind; & then one serving a Soup.

2/3 as in 2 or 3. Not 2/3rds.

You seem to be missing the point that you are on liquids- the stuff in the soup: Beans, onions, etc. are solids. broth, creams, and other liquids are all that is allowed on full liquids. Either strain the Soup (remove all solids) or purée it so that the solids liquify.

@@brennafaith -- "I didn't blend, no. Wouldnt that just make it chunkier?"

Brenna, I think it would be in your best interest to speak with the RD or NP or similar at your surgery practice. Pronto. You're working in the dark with such confusions that to continue on your own or wade through responses here in BP probably won't help that much. I say this only because I know first-hand and from speaking with people in the seven years since my surgery that, in the early days, so much info and so many instructions are thrown at us that confusion (even about things a person has always known) is common. That you're thrown at the mention of blender is a clue. Please make the call and let the RD know exactly what you've been doing and what you've done and stopped doing. You'll get clarity and peace of mind. Take a deep breath, too. Please. You'll be fine. That's a promise.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
