Bra line back lift and medial thigh lift

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

So, 18 months after I had my sleeve I am booked in for my first plastic procedures. Having been over weight my entire life I need the works, tummy, arms, thighs, back and one day face/neck! I'm starting with these two as I'm not certain if I'm done with having babies or not so as much as I'd love to do my stomach first, that's gonna have to wait!

So...I'm booked in for 23 Nov Got my pre op tests next weds. Getting very nervous about it... not so much the surgery as the recovery. I will have help but have a five year old daughter so there will be some stuff I just have to get on with. I am booked in for 2/3 nights in hosp (I am in the U.K.).

Any advice, experience or words of wisdom anyone has for recovery etc would be very gratefully received!? Practical things I can have at home ready etc.

I am planning to get a walker and raised toilet seat with frame. I'm not sure what my surgeon provides in terms of compression, so any recommendations there would be great too!

Thanks in advance :-)

My daughter was about 8 when I started my plastics - She would help me change my dressings and get in and out of the compression garments - She was amazzzzzing... I had designveronique compression garments from eurosurgical and the moment I put them on I felt like I was protected in my armour.... The medial thigh lift was the hardest of all of my surgeries so I would say get in to compression asap. Once I was in that it was a breeze...

I did not need any walkers of special toilet seats etc.

Compression garments I got mine from here - Tho the hospital provided them after my first op or two - So I guess it depends on which hospital you are at...

Good luck - Just keep your eyes on the prize and the new you will be here soon...

I exercised all the way through, cardio and lots of weights/strength. I also lost at a very conservative pace...not my choice but I would have liked it to be faster! However, having been obese for thirty years understandably took its toll on my skin and after losing over 100lb I knew it was never going to just bounce back!

@@Scamp sorry just thought of a few questions!

With your thigh lift, how soon did you start to wear compression? And in terms of recovery, how soon were you able to drive again and do short errands (in thinking about dropping my daughter to school etc)?

Also did you use anything on your scars like paper or silicone tape or gel etc?

Thanks

I was leaving the hospital two days post op and a few hours before leaving they took the drains out and then I went straight in to compression then. I was driving within a week I think, definitely not more tahn two..

For the scars - I did a test on myself (silly idea) on my left leg I kept the paper tape bought from the chemist/drug store. On my right leg I used Micropore 3M tape..... My right legs scar is a ton better than the left leg scar! So I would always say to use Micropore 3M surgical paper tape as it is definitely better. I kept this tape on for 10-12 weeks - This supports the scar in it's first stage of healing so it doesn't stretch - Admittedly on the legs this is harder work, lol

My daughters school is opposite my door so that was not a problem. I did not use special silicon sheets as I used the 3M tape and then just massaged scars with E45 type cream.

Hope that helps

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
