Take a collagen supplement and try to have your Protein around 100 grams a day. One most of the Hair growth forums you will find that people are making their hair stronger and grow faster by increasing their protein.

John Frieda makes a great glossing treatment that leaves your hair shiny and moisturized for about two weeks after you use it, you can use it as often as you like:

Thank you everyone! I've been taking the Biotin for 7 months now , the hair loss has slowed down but now it's just thin and dry. I get about 60-70 g of Protein so I'm going to try and up that.

@@higher thank you I will try this !!

This is one treatment i swear by and literally the only thing i use other than Shampoo and conditioner.

Put half cup olive oil & quarter coconut oil in a small saucepan, heat it up gently until its just luke warm (not hot, you will fry your scalp)

Put the mixture throughout your hair, scalp included and then wrap your hair in cling wrap (plastic wrap)... leave for as long as you require (i leave it for 1hr)

Then wash as usual.... your hair won't be oily as long as you lather well.

I do this once a week, and everyone comments how beautiful and shiny my hair is...

I have also used egg or mayo for a Protein fix in the past, but i don't need it on my hair.

I know everyone says to take Vitamin B (biotin) for hair and nails, but Vitamins C and E have actually been more effective, at least in my case. I started taking fairly large doses (I am not recommending this for everyone, talk to your doctor!) of both C and E and I have seen profound changes in my skin and my hair. My hair is thicker, stronger and definitely shinier than a year ago. I take a full-spectrum gamma E, 1,200 mg a day in 3 doses and 4,000 mg of Vitamin C in 4 doses.

I found the "ethnic" hair products I use for my daughter are great for keeping in the shine and moisture. Look for items that have a lot of natural oil content. I particularly like the Shea Moisture line.

For something dirt cheap and effective, take a little coconut oil between your palms and then massage it into your hair as a leave-in conditioner. You only need a little bit. It does not make your hair look greasy. Olive oil works well too.

I've been using Nexxus Therappe Shampoo and humectress conditioner on my own hair for the past several years. My hair is shiny, minimal split ends, even after two years without a cut, and behaves fairly well. When I need a little something more, or I want definition without it being crunchy, I dip into the products I bought for my daughter.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
