The lower your weight to start, the slower you'll lose. 216 is on the low end for bariatric surgery. You say you are hardly eating... That doesn't help. Are you meeting you Protein and liquid goals?

Hardly eating as in no where near what i used to i do eat small meals every 2-3 hours , my surgeon said no Protein until im moved to diet 3 same with Vitamins none til then . liquids im getting there im between 32 and 50 oz depends on the day some i drink like nothing and other days i just cant .

That seems a little odd, I understand no solid Protein of course, but protein helps you heal, and you need Vitamins.< /p>

you can't expect a huge physical change in two weeks. Give it time and stick to your program

My weight loss didn't pick up until after week 6 and I lost weight the fastest in months 3-5.

Your body is working on healing, not losing weight. Your body has had a major trauma.

You are starting at a lower start weight so your weight loss is going to be slower than most people. Stick to your program and the losses will come.

If you aren't meeting your Protein goals, you can't expect to lose weight if you are starving.

I understand everyone has their own program but I would be very tempted to ignore that and have some Protein shake at the very least.

I agree my body was so ached a couple days ago so i drank a premier Protein Shake and not even kidding felt way better in a couple hours . I might just have to keep doing it because this is ridiculous i just finished grocery shopping not even 1 hours out and about and i feel drained.

Personally I would set a protein/water target and go for it, and since you're doing that take your Vitamins too. I was told my first week (so, immediately post surgery) that the most important thing was Water and not to worry too much about Protein, because dehydration is so dangerous, but that was literally the first week. Protein shakes and Vitamins won't hurt you, but they will help.

It's dangerous to go that long without Protein. You need at least 60gms protein and 64ozs fluids. My plan requires me to have a Protein Shake in the hospital. I'm sure that's why you feel weak. In this case, I'd go against what your Surgeon recommended.

AnaLaura85, I am little over 2 weeks out myself and have had little weight loss as well. Three days after surgery I actually weighed 22 lbs more than I did pre-op! I have always had issues with Fluid retention so I didn't panic. Within 3 more days I was back to pre-op weight and am currently down 7 from that. I just think that my body is reeling from all of the trauma and needs to recoup. Hoping to see bigger changes in the upcoming weeks! So let's both hang there and see what's to come!

Protein is critical for healing and weight loss.

Until you are able to get in all of your Protein and fluids. I would recommend just staying off the scale until you are able to get in enough nutrition.

I would normally say follow your surgeon's instructions, but his instructions are diametrically opposed to what I was told by my surgeon and I a had a great recovery, I would recommend that you talk with your surgeon to make sure you understand his instructions. I was required to get in 100 grams of protein a day starting the day after surgery

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
