I am about 4 1/2 months out and I see so many people talking about stalls but has any successfully broke a stall and what did you do. Yep getting Protein in about 50 grams and yep getting Water in about 50-64 oz of water on good days. Gym is a slight problem working with a healing broken ankle so I am using the bicycle and working with a trainer on strength training. Could my lack of exercise be my issue?

How many calories and carbs are you getting in each day? If that's on track, I would say, just stay off the scale for a few weeks and when you get back on, you'll very likely find the stall broken.

Exercise has very little to do with weight loss -- food intake is much more important.

Is there a way to break a stall......YES. Lower the nose and increase power.

oh, you mean the stall when you're losing weight??

No. it will break on your own body's schedule. Just keep doing what you've been doing. ;)

However, should you ever find yourself in a plane with the pilot incapacitated and the aircraft slowing and shuddering.......then do what I said above. :o

I was just there too. At about 4.5 months I stalled (for almost 1.5 months). During my stall I bounced up 2 lbs and down 2 lbs from my stall weight of 184 lbs. I remained stalled until almost 6 months. Then I had a whoosh down to 178, and I am sitting at 178 now. My Dr recommended I change my exercise routine. I continued to track my food and do similar exercise, with a small tweak. I've always either walked with short jogging intervals or do the elliptical. I continued that, but started carrying 5 lb weights per hand. I am not sure if the weights triggered the stall break or if it was coincidence. My Dr also told me these last lbs that I want to lose are going to be the hardest. He is right. Hang in there.

For me it was changing up my routine. I was in a stall at 240 for about a week and a half. I was tracking every day and getting in my Water, Protein and 600-800 calories-- but I wasn't losing. This past weekend I went out of town and did not track, didn't follow my established food routine and was convinced I would gain weight. In fact, I lost 5 lbs in two days.

That works for me, but honestly, it could have just been time for my body to drop that weight.

I am 2 months post surgery.

It sounds like you need to

Increase both your Protein and your water.

You need protein for healing and weight loss.

I am getting in about 600-800 calories Protein is using about 50-60 a day trying to find the right regime to get all my Protein in has been the hardest task for me I'll do a Protein Drink for Breakfast and depending on what that is could be 20 or 30 grams of protein and try to get a high protein lunch and dinner so I averaging about 50-60 but then trying to get 64oz of Water in too, whew is like stomach over load I'm stirring clear of carbs at most I think I do about 27-40 grams of carbs a day. I really try to eat right trust me some days are harder than others but I have a goal to reach and that's my motivation.

@@perfectlyimperfect44 I am not an expert by any means but I think that amount of calories is too low for 4 1/2 months out. You may want to kick it up a little. Get some Protein powder and mix with Water, crystal light, etc. or get some Protein Water so it counts towards your water and protein.

You have done tremendous so far (loss of 105 lbs) so be proud of yourself and just keep working at it.

How far out are you? What is your protein target?

It appears to me that you simple need more protein/calories and Water.< /p>

Can you add a couple of high protein Snacks?

I feel you I think I have hit a stall this week. I have been averaging 5lbs a week since the 1st week after surgery in April so down about 50+lbs but this week stepped on the scale and up 2 lbs. Nothing is different eating 60-80g of Protein everyday and I am a Water and unsweetened ice tea fiend plus throwing a poweraide zero. The only thing that might be off is that I get home late from practices 8pm. We start at 3pm so no food during this time.

I am trying to ride it out as I know it will get better.

Can you plan a meal, snack, or at least a Protein shake or bar during your practice time. That is an awful long time to go without some Protein when you are having a challenge getting it all in. I hope you are at least sipping fluid/water during that time.

I will second the calorie increase suggestion.

I am at around 1200. Always over 1000 minimal.

@innersurfergirl- I do manage to get in liquids as we are outside in Florida and I would die if I didn't! I take a poweraide zero around and add Water to the bottle so I am constantly drinking as I go and we water break the players frequently so I drink then too.

My NUT thought that was too long to go to so I am looking at sneaking in a couple of ounces of chicken or turkey jerkey around 5-5:30 hopefully that will help and then I wont eat after 8PM.

I am not getting in 1000 calories a day though a lot of days I am closer to 500-600 a good day would be 800 calories

If you are working out intensely then you definitely need to up your calories. I am surprised you have been cleared for intense exercise before being able to do so.

ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates have 15 grams of protein and you can add them to your water bottle. You could also add Syntrax nectar.

Why won't you eat after 8 pm? Especially if you are low on protein.

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
