@ I am having Gastric Sleeve surgery sometime in September. I have not tried taking it in the morning on an empty stomach, I will give that a try. Problem is, I get up at 3:30 am to catch a 4:15am train..so I kinda roll out of bed into my clothes and out the door. I tend to forget $h!t in the morning, so it has become "routine" for me to take it at night. But lowering the dose would be nice, so will discuss it with my Endo at next appoint in June.

This must be hard then to take it in the morning for you, as you need at least 1/2 hour (ideally 1 hour) prior food.

When I worked shift work, I had to have a coffee straight away, when I got up.

I don't know if you have a Breakfast at 3.30 or so .... or later once you get to work.

With just coffee or tea in the mornings, providing it is consistent, the switch may work.

Yes, please discuss it with your Endo.

What I do to remember to take my med in the morning, is to take it our of the fridge the night before and put it in my little pill container, on my bedside table, next to my glass of Water.

It is a habit now, so it works for me.

With skipping the Sunday dose, I put reminders in my phone for Saturday evenings, and a posted note on my med package in the fridge.

Good luck, Killian

@@Daisee68 Thanks. She says my weightloss goals are based on my starting weight so I should be losing more....but then she wouldn't budge on my calories or Protein and took away my carbs completely even healthy ones like veggies so I stalled out for 2 months. so....I like her as a person, but as a NUT, I'm starting to seriously doubt her logic. Once I upped everything on my own I stopped getting blinding headaches and dizziness and being so tired I'd just fall asleep where I was. I told her all of this and her solution was to get an Iron test, which I had already done and sent her the results of because I knew she would say that, so....it is what it is with her. I may never make her paper goals.

@ Thanks. I kinda feel that way sometimes. She's a nice person and all, but I don't think she really looks at me and my body in her figuring. I was literally starving and stalled for 2 months before I went rogue and since then I've lost like 20lbs! Unfortunately, it being such a small practice, there is only 1 NUT so it is what it is, but I'm thinking of looking for another one to see on the side.

@

Thanks! Will definitely discuss my situation with my Endo in June. I usually eat Breakfast when I get to work at 6pm...so taking it in the morning on an empty stomach will work for me.

I was on synthroid for a while and it made me extremely emotional, (which is unlike me) and I stopped taking it. My former doctor wouldn't listen to me and uped the dose. I quit going to him and my new doc has me on armor thyroid. It seems to be working, it's just taking time. Every 6 weeks my levels improve.

Hi There,
Just saw your post and am thinking of switching from synthrroid to armour. I am a year and a half out with my sleeve and have been stalled at the same weight for a year. I am 40lbs from my goal. I have been having terrible hot flashes recently and am on .125 synthroid since my surgery 2yrs ago. I know my endo will want to lower my dose which will make the weight that much harder to get off but the hot flashes are miserable, too.

How is the armour working for you?

Had Thyroid cancer and total Thyroidectomy on 11/13. First few years were rough, had adverse reactions to Synthroid and ArmourThyroid. Finally taking Tirosint, but have yet to get my TSH in range. Regardless, I've lost 70 lbs. since sleeve in December through diet alone. Weight loss was impossible before both surgeries with diet and exercise, so I am totally stoked!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
