Isn't that the truth Ryan! My mesh jacket that I bought last summer was tight. Now it is definitely too big. Back to craigslist...

I bought my new jacket on craigslist as well. I need to list my old one and my old chaps.

Not a NSV, but I thought my fellow riders would like to see this pic. A friend of mine was running at the ECTA Mile in Wilmington OH this weekend. Was hoping for 200+ mph, but sadly fell short and only hit 190 something.

His bike is a 2006 Kawasaki ZX-14 with 33K miles! The dude rides all the time!

12' Street Glide. Took her out the other night after sitting for a few months. Definitely a better ride after shedding 100 lbs!

I see you are a pretty tall guy, too.

Is that among the best Harleys for tall guys ?

I've been kicking around some ideas.

@@Dub - far be it for me to knock anyone's ride, but don't you have a bad back also? If so, you really need to think about how sitting with your feet extended in front of your hips is going to affect your back. The one thing I hear over and over from people is how comfortable a cruiser is; but for me they are an agony. Even now my legs will go numb if I sit with my feet extended in front of me.

Another bad thing (if you have a bad back) about cruisers is the fact that you have nothing to absorb the bumps in the road other than your butt and spine. For many people that have lumbar issues, I recommend UJM's or adventure style bikes. Upright seating position with your knees at about a 90 degree bend. That way your legs can absorb some of the repeated impacts.

That all being said - if having a cruiser is a dream you have always had, then dammit! Get a cruiser! You ever want to talk bikes, I am all about it! I was supposed to take my MSF Rider Coach test this year, but as always life is getting in the way of my passion.

Surgery is in a week. Hopefully be able to ride before the summer is over.

Longest ride 9k miles. Philly to Cali and back. Best time ever.

How long after were you guys able to ride?

I am down over 100 pounds and am enjoying riding this season. Need to replace my 3XL mesh jacket with an XL mesh jacket.

Just hit 90,000 miles on my Honda ST1300. Need a new rear tire before heading out for the West Coast this Summer.

I am down over 165 lbs. Been able to ride my trike more easily and more often. Need to find a seat shade so I can ride it to work and leave it parked in the hot Texas sun all day.

I also have a bad back and have found that having the bigger backrest and two back tires is a huge difference.

Definitely a question I was wondering. I'm headed to my 4th season riding and I'm preop for gastric sleeve. I love riding my bike...so visualizing me much thinner on my VTX1800F is a goal I can't wait to see!post-307508-14813861185092_thumb.jpg

I just revisited this old thread because of a recent question. All the memories of the first real ride after losing a lot of weight came back. Man... the thrill and exhilaration of that day! I just rode 600 miles this past weekend over two days on KY 42 and IN 62 & 66.

Any other touring motorcyclist out there on this forum anymore?

I am still on this forum on occasion. I took a three day trip to New Hampshire and Vermont two weekends ago. 1,100 miles of mostly back roads with great weather.

Some other life events have hampered touring on my motorcycle for the past year. However I am finally getting back on track and am getting a new rear tire tomorrow morning in preparation for a trip to Newfoundland later this Summer.

Big Viffer--Don't be mean, there are a lot of Motorcycle Mama's out here too. Haven't,ride in years because I didn't want to look like a clown in the circus, with sideflaps on each. side of the seat. Every time I see a Geico commercial the fever starts to smolder!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
