Recommended Posts

I have severe Constipation and need a quick remedy. This is the second and I'm miserable. Scheduled for sleeve on Wednesday.

This may be bariatric heresy, but you asked for a quick fix. Read these reviews for Haribo sugar free Gummy Bears. If you are brave, go ahead. I will admit that I have used them a couple of times with results within a couple of hours. Just be sure you are at home and close to a toilet you can call your own for a while!

I'm assuming you have already tried Milk of Magnesia. If you haven't, use that and Dulcolax.

If you have already tried standard remedies such as Milk of Magnesia and Miralax,

go to a pharmacy and get a bottle of Magnesium Citrate. This *will* clear you out, but it is no fun at all. Basically, you'll need to be within easy range of a toilet (like no more than 15 feet away) for 8 - 12 hours and stock up on baby wipes beforehand. Don't take this any later than Monday or you may still be feeling the effects of it when surgery time rolls around.

I think Magnesium Citrate is what I had to drink before a colonoscopy. It does come in a few flavors. I think mine was lemon.

One thing that I do on a regular basis to help prevent Constipation now is taking 2 magnesium supplements a day. Other things I keep on hand are prunes, prune juice, Smooth Move Tea, and Miralax. if I have a hot chocolate before bed, I will put a scoop of Miralax in it.

The sweetener in sugar free Gummy bears is a digestive irritant to some folks. They have difficulty with certain sweeteners giving them the whistling s***s.

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
