I just started my puree diet and having a difficult time getting in my Protein. Tonight I opened a can of black Beans drained them and then smashed them as they cooked on the stove. Top it with a lil cheese. It was so good and didn't feel like I was eating baby food. :D

Let me just add some things I eat

I am 3.5 months out and have been released to eat almost everything except salad and steak.

eggs, cream of wheat, Greek nonfat yogurt, all kinds of cheese, low sodium lunch meat, potato, avocado, humus, chicken, Pork roast, cooked fresh veggies, sugar free pudding, almond milk, inspire Protein, Quest Protein Bars, cauliflower rice, tofu. Almost anything my sleeve will tolerate. My favorite treat is 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, vanilla protein and a sugar free Crush orange packet blended with ice it tastes like an orange dream Popsicle!

3.5 months out here:

My surgeon has emphasized that my meals should be 1/2 cup in volume. Steak, chicken and fish are what he quotes as my best choices.

Why Greek yogurt?

Greek yogurt has a lot more Protein than regular yogurt. In fact, many of the things we think of as yogurt aren't really yogurt and don't even say yogurt on the container (Yoplait Light). Check the label for protein, fat, and sugar and you'll be surprised at the differences.

Why Greek yogurt?

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
