Hello Everyone! I was sleeved on 1/25, so I will be one week out tomorrow! My food stages look like this (as per doctor and NUT)

STAGE ONE- Clear liquids

*Day of and Day after Surgery

STAGE TWO- Full liquids

*Day 3 until 2 week Post Op Appt

(Surgeon will clear)

STAGE THREE- Soft Foods including... deli meats, steamed fished, eggs, Beans, melted cheese, dry toast, crackers, tuna, yogurt...

*2 weeks post op- 2 month post op Appt

My question is...

Has anyone else had similar stages; time wise? I am happy to be able to start eating way more stuff next week, but I see most people post about being on Full liquid/purees for 4 weeks. Has anyone else started soft foods at 2 weeks post op?

It's always interesting to see the differences. I was Clear Liquids for surgery day plus the next 3 days then full liquids for 3 weeks then on to soft foods for 3 more weeks and then we discuss more at my next appointment.

I was given a day by day meal plan for the first 3 months. I had back off and focus more on the intake of fluids I was dehydrated and needed some IV fluids. I was concentrating on getting my Protein but by doing that I became severely dehydrated. Much better now, but if you are not urinating every few hours be careful it sneaks up on you.

I had soft tuna before I left hospital- you will be fine just take it slow - start with 2 oz. I am 2 months out and doing great with all foods.

Your stages look very like the ones I have from my surgeon.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
