Thanks so much for your post and your amazing positivity that radiates through my screen. I am scheduled for VSG on Feb 1st and worried that I'll have difficulty reaching my goal weight due to my age (40's). Your success has inspired me and made me smile. Wishing you the happiest of birthdays!

difficulty reaching goal weight due to my age (40's).

thanx bud-

you are scared about reaching goal in the ripe ol' age in the 40's???

what does that make me at 62?? from the dinosaur era?? LOL

age doesn't matter - follow all the rules - you will do terrific - i can feel it in my ol' bones LOL

i was sleeved 1 month before i turned 58 years OLD - .

4 years later at the YOUNG age of 62, i'm still standing tall and proud!! you will too silly head!!! LOL

get ready to start or continue pre-op -sleeve for the next 10 days or so

DOS - February 1rst - good luck, speedy recovery!!

Awww love! Congratulations!

thanx my friend

you're another Newbie that i saw grow up, while your weight went down (just like @Babbs)

i know you lowered your goal, almost down to your lower new goal weight!!!

you are aces, wonderful, terrific!!!

fear of death and taxes!!! i had to say those nice words to you

thanx to you for always being a sweetie

see you around the neighborhood

@@4MRB4PHOTO

Happy belated birthday and congratulations on the fantastic effort you put in to lose that

excess weight and keep it off!

thanx dude - it is harder to keep weight off - in past "regular" life, many of us lost the weight - hard to keep it off (or maintenance) so gained it back - that's why i had WLS

now that i have lost the weight with the "assistance" of the sleeve - i still have to work hard with all the rules i've learned to maintain

if i gain a bit, i try and nip it in bud to loose

right now i'm 8.s lbs over goal  (gotta be honest with myself)

i am confident i will loose that weight, but might take longer than when i was first sleeved

@@Julie norton

Happy day. Have some fun today...Seems like you do everyday!

thanx kiddo

i do enjoy every day while i was loosing weight - and now fluctuating a bit

i still consider myself at GOAL

keep up the amazing job you have done!!

@@ssflbelle

when I have lost the next 160 then you can call me the Ace of Hearts!

Amanda, are you kidding me???

you have lost 180 lbs these past months before surgery! WLS is 1/26/16 !

you want to loose another 162 lbs to reach goal

you have less to loose now (but more to gain) than you lost before WLS

i will continue to call you the Ace of Hearts (that is a winning hand!!!)

you are going to be the big 60!!! on Saturday!! welcome!! great neighborhood!!

keep up the great job - i know you will!!

good luck on monday - speedy recovery

@@bellabloom

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
