At that point I was allowed oatmeal, grits, yogurt and cream of wheat. Oatmeal never went over too well but the rest were great!

Greek yogurt? I've been eating about 1/2 cup of egg whites with about 1/2 ounce of shredded cheese.

At a month out, I think I was still on purees. I remember eating Greek yogurt and a LOT of cottage cheese. I had cottage cheese mixed with touches of hot sauce, Tomato sauce, etc. I also ate canned chicken or tuna (mashed really fine or even blended early on) mixed with fat-free mayo and maybe some chicken broth to thin it. I am also one of those that ate baby food early on in purees.

I wasn't allowed eggs until solids and at that point I ate a lot of eggs. Only recently (I'm almost a year out), have I done something other than eggs or a Protein bar for Breakfast since I was allowed solids.

my favorite bfasts are....

Fage greek yogurt, touch of honey and melon (cantaloupe, honeydew or kiwi).

I also really like to make eggs like mini quiche. Check out this recipe - http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2013/07/7-protein-packed-grab-and-go-breakfast.html.

I am also making Protein pancakes, nice and soft. I make them up in dollar size and then put in frid for the week and warm up two each morning. http://dailyburn.com/life/recipes/chocolate-banana-protein-pancakes/

.... this recipe is my favorite so far.

Well, I didn't mention Protein pancakes because it's only recently that I've had those. I've tried several recipes, but my favorite was the simplest - mash (I blend) a medium to large banana, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons of Protein powder and about 1/8 teaspoon of baking powder then cook on a griddle or pan. They come out thin, but are great and so sweet because of the banana (and Protein Powder, if flavored) that I don't want Syrup. I wrap them around small Breakfast meats.

It's only recently that I wanted to add the carbs (banana), though. Be careful of what your plan allows.

These are great. And if you have Walden Farms calorie free Syrup, then area amazing.

Bananas have a lot of carbs so I would avoid them.

I'm a month out and I'm on soft foods. I don't like breakfast type foods so I've been eating stuff like meatballs, deviled eggs and string cheese, chicken.

I tend to have 1 poached egg with 1/2 oz of cheese (usually habanero cheddar) and 1.5oz of fruit (usually watermelon). Sometimes instead of the cheese and fruit, I will eat 2 oz of Fage Plain Yogurt with and 1/8 cup Special K Protein Cereal for crunch - it's really yummy! I also do shakes when my Breakfast needs to be quick. I have had Carbquick pancakes twice and those are pretty good. I also sometimes will eat organic chicken breakfast sausage with my eggs, the Applegate Farms company is my favorite brand. Oh yea, I also will make "cannoli cream" and eat that instead of yogurt sometimes. You just take some skin ricotta, a tbsp of milk, drop of vanilla stevia, and a drop of pure almond extract and mix together. It tastes just like cannoli cream. You can add a strawberry to it or even some a couple sugar free chocolate chips. It's one of my favorites!

Anyway, do you have a list of acceptable foods from you doctors office? I was just ending soft foods at a month out. I hope you have gotten some yummy breakfast ideas!

@@MarceMonster thank you! My surgeon said I can start a regular diet, they didn't give me a list for that. They just said focus on Protein and low carbs. Where did you get carb quick pancakes?

I ended up ordering them either from Amazon or Nettrition.com. Both sites had them I just can't remember which was cheaper. They are really good, even my husband eats them (who is not a wls patient or even overweight).

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
