I had surgery on Thursday January 7,2016 n it was a revision form lap band to sleeve! A lot of scare tissue but I'm doing good! Been walking and sipping on hot tea, ice chips and water! Get the gas put! But I'm restless, want to be home in my own bed

How long did your surgery take? How long do you need to stay in hospital?

I had my sleeve surgery on 1/5/16, and it took about 1.5 hours, then home 2 days later, now drinking Protein, broth, juice, meeting goals. Good luck!

I too had my sleeve on 1/5/16. I was home on Thursday. On Protein diet and liquids diet for one week then on soft foods the next week. Everything went well. I was nauseous and in pain for one day. The Meds helped a lot. By Thursday I felt much better. Today my fifth day I was out at Aldi's getting organic stuff to make my protein smoothies. I can drink about 64 oz of Water in 12 hours and two Protein Drinks in 10 hours. I try to have broth with my Vitamins so it won't upset my stomach. I have not weighted myself yet. Will do so on Sunday. But I know I've lost weight. The Victoria's Secret Pjs I got for Christmas wouldn't fit and now the pants is lose and feels comfy. Scars are healing well. I am not hungry but it could be the protein drinks. My Breakfast one almond milk and is filling with Protein Powder. A little Greek yogurt to change up a little.

Just curious what other's are experiencing for stomach capacity with their newly sleeved stomach; after two weeks I really have no problem knocking back an 11 oz Protein shake, ditto for broth etc.

My biggest problem is remembering to drink Water during the day at work, I rarely do though I am trying to drink a couple bottles a day while working. I really have no problem drinking...just remembering and making myself do it.

I didn't have any problem drinking Protein drinks or broth. But can only eat a half of cup or less of real food. It has been very restrictive which is good.

Down about 43 pounds in 5 weeks. ????

I do have trouble drinking Water because I stay so full for so long after eating and don't feel like drinking up to two hours after eating sometimes.

I had by band removed back in 2012 I'm wondering how much scar tissue they will have when they start mine and if it is going to cause an issue.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
