What the heck is waist training?

It's the ridiculous (in my opinion) fad where women/girls wear tight corsets to have an unnaturally narrow waist. Didn't we learn anything in the 19th century?

Bring on the fainting couches.

I started waist training in my 5th month out from surgery. Your size of corset will change rapidly with weight loss. I'm on my third corset.

It is a body modification. We are all adults this is a choice that may not be for everyone. I like that you train for a few months and you get an hour glass figure. After not having a waist for so long it's a nice change.

I would think from a health stand point it would be a really bad idea. My Dr said that your sleeve is not completely heeled for two - three months.

The garment my daughter gave me is a latex girdle style not corset, she went from xl garment to small size garment in 90 days,so she passed them to me,which in my opinion can only support the stomach. I havr read articles about post op surgical garments, this is the same in comparison. To each his own.

I wore the spandix for the first few weeks after my surgery and it worked wonders for me, but now I am happy with my new look and I don't think this would be for me but nice to know it works for others.

Sounds like you knew the answer before you ask. Sorry you are not getting the answers that you want. But you did ask. Maybe your surgeon would be your best source of advice on this.

@soonergal91go to hourglass.com or ardyss.com,they are most reasonable, you can also just google waist trainers too.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
