I want to put my point of view. Surgery in Mexico. I had 2 times experience and also referred at least 7 people. There is no question about Tijuana Docs Dr Almanza and Dr Camberos experiences and their practices. No doubt they both are pros.

But there is a question mark on the aftercare facility they have Grant View Hospital. Horrible horrible Horrible place horrible experience. Nurse have no medical background at all. The hospital looks more like a socializing place rather than a hospital. Other than few nurses Cecilia and Alex. The nurse are not trained at all or even they are trained they don't want to work as a professional nurses.

Aftercare their in the facility is worst I ever seen ever in my life. Even here in this world we don't treat animals like the way nurses in Grant View Hospital in Tijuana treat human beings. I would never ever in my life recommend anyone to go there. There are so many Medical Tourism places in the world to go. Please do your research before you make your decision.

Thank-you Nazia for your response.

I did have the VSG done by Dr Almanza Jan 2013. Spent the first night in the hospital and the following two nights in a hotel.

My sutures did become infected after I came home to the US. But it was quickly eliminated by antibiotics.

My questions to you is this: Did you have the procedure there? Or did someone else tell you about it? What specifically made the experience horrible? How do you know the nurses weren't trained?

I ask these questions, as this was not my experience at all.

Just curious...

-Alan

Bari-Pals read Alex Brechers thread above, Dr Almanza is mentioned by name in it, A CDC warning has gone out! Dangerous waters to try to Ford there!

Ignoring warnings from the CDC or even their whistle-blowers is exactly how you get a zombie apocalypse. Dont be the one to unleash doomsday upon us all!

I've seen so many episodes of BOTCHED & it still amazes me people will take dumb risks with their body or face or nose just to save money!!

Bariatric surgery is intensive internal and a simple infection can KILL you.

I've been researching multiple surgeries and surgeons for over 6 months. I've read 100s of Forum posts and numerous reviews before I decide the 2 Top surgeons and then I'll have a huge discussion with them to make sure they understand and treat me like a human before I commit

So I say anybody who rushes into surgery without even thinking deserves what happens! Be smart. Common sense!

While I appreciate everyones comments, just to add my own experience in ... I had my first surgery with Dr Almanza in 2015 and everything was fine. My incisions did not get infected nor did I have any other complications.
I just had surgery again 1/17/19 and, so far, everything is good. My incisions even look better than before. I have no signs of infection nor any other complications.
I do feel for the people who had bad experiences but mine were great.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
