Yes... I agree on losing inches during the stall. I notice my skin is not as tight and getting somewhat "saggy'er".

Dr says stall can last anywhere from 2-3 weeks. And is truly normal. We work hard to clean/shrink/soften our livers prior to surgery. Once we get out of clear liquids- our liver is trying to take all it can from full liquids and solids to "fill back up".

This takes much longer than cleaning it out. And the stuff the liver wants is "glycogen". Which weighs much more than fat.... Hence the scale not moving. So we may be losing fat...but gaining liver weight.

It will drop again.

Today... I saw a drop in the scale that I hAdnt in weeks. So I think I may be on the downward slope of the hill. Which would put me at 2 ½ week stall.

Today was my first day at the gym. I wanted to make sure I was really healed well.

I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and burned 315 calories (according to the machine, not sure how accurate that is)!

Surgery date 7/20.

HW 260

SW 221

Day of surgery 205. Today is 17 days post op. I weighed 198 this morning. To say I am a little disappointed would be an understatement. I have had no trouble getting in Protein and fluids since day 1 post op. I consume less than 600 calories daily and this is my first week walking 1.5 miles daily. The weight just isn't coming off.

I am hoping it is just part of the healing process and part of starting at a lower weight than some.

I think your doing really well, if not ahead. 17 days isn't very much & there is the 2-3 week you may be coming near as well. Read a few earlier posts... I shared what m Drs have told us and have been told by other sleevers

Chin up. Slow and easy & you are doing great!

1 month since surgery in mexico!!! Down 25 lbs (since pre op diet started) and I feel amazing!!!

Bmi from 30 to 25.3!!

I've lost a total of 11 inches from my thighs (2"), hips (5"!!!), waist (2"), and arms (2")!!!

gone from size 16 pants to size 12!! Yippee!!

Most importantly, I feel truly happy now. I'm free from that torture I put myself through, thinking about my weight 24/7. I'm our from under that dark cloud! FREEDOM!! And it feels amazing!

(Grey shirt is me today, black was me the day before surgery)

I ate out for the first time last night. I ordered a chicken breast with shiitake mushrooms in a cream sauce. I cut about 2 ounces of chicken off and kept four mushrooms and some sauce. Tiny bites. Lots of chewing. It is hard not to drink while eating. The waitress seemed perplexed that I wasn't eating like the rest of my family. It made me think about how I used to join them in eating like a starving wolf, devouring everything. Instead of dessert, I had a cup of Decaf. It was a nice meal and was also my first meal on soft foods. I am steadily losing but slowly now. If only I could keep losing the pound a day that lost the first week after surgery!

I am doing great with eating. Sticking to softer foods but did have a Protein Bar yesterday for lunch. At a little more than half and finished the rest later in the day. I have usually about 48oz of liquid, hard to get 64oz. Only do shakes a couple times a week now as I feel I want the food I can chew more and am able to get in the 60g of Protein. I think i try so much harder on this sleeve than I ever did with the band. I don't want to fail and I wish the weight loss was faster, but I am happy. I overate on fruit of all things and threw up a little bit. I do not want to do that again. It was uncomfortable to be too full but throwing up not on my agenda for sure, did enough of that with the band to last me to forever.

Scared to weigh myself too often so I am avoiding the scale for awhile. Staying under 1000 cals a day too. Walking daily but could do more walking I think.

Hope you all are doing well and having success. I am on myfitnesspal as neeceeusa.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
