I'm just a little frustrated because this is what happens all the time, lose 30, stop losing gain it back!! Over and over always with the 30lbs! Anyone know what I can do? I go to the gym 6 days a week and eat plenty of protein!!! Thank u

Hi, I know how you feel. I'm three months next Thursday and I felt the same way, scale not moving but my clothes are getting bigger. My doctor told me to stay off the scale and go by how I feel and I am. She says I'm doing great. If you are losing inches you are doing great don't beat yourself up about it. Just keep doing what you are doing and it will start to show. I'm only down 35 pounds since the surgery but I've gone from a size 20 to 12. Stay positive.

How many calories are you getting a day? Working out 6 days a week is pretty impressive and you may need more calories to fuel your workouts. I had to bump my calories up to 1000 because I stopped losing if I got less than that. When I was two months post op though, I was getting around 600-800 calories a day. It was 2.5 months post op that I hit my biggest stall and that's when I had to bump up the calories. Seems like for me I stall every 10 pounds and there's nothing I can do except keep with the program. It usually sorts itself out in 7-10 days then I'll lose another 10 pounds. Do you log your food into anything like myfitnesspal? That could give insight into what you might be able to change around to see the scales move again. Usually in a big stall, just changing things up will do the trick. Like more calories, or a different workout routine, something like that. Good luck!!

Stalls a re pretty normal. They are frustrating, but you have to trust in the process. Keep up with your Protein, Water, and exercise. I agree with @@beachgurl84 that you may need to work on consuming some more calories. It seems counter intuitive, but you need to convince your body that you aren't starving in order to get it to let go of the fat, so bumping you calories up by a couple hundred may be just the kick start you need to get the scale moving again. Once I was exercising 5-6 days a week, I worked hard to get up over 1000 calories a day and even added a few carbs on my workout days.

Yeah I probley do need to bump up my calories, I get about 500-600 daily! I log with my fitness pal!!! And it makes sense that I would need more working out so much!!! Thank you all for the advice!!

I'm 10 weeks out. I've lost 40 lbs but stalled the past 2 weeks. I feel your pain. I've bumped up exercise to 5x a week, but it hasn't helped. I've been eating about 500 calories, so maybe I'll try bumping that up too.

If you are only eating 500 calories a day, you aren't doing yourself any favors by working out 5 times a week. Definitely try increasing your calories in order to sustain you workouts.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
