5 months post op

Recommended Posts

I'm 5 months post op. And down 60 lbs or so. Been working out n working with a trainer. I do feel better that I've lost the 60 lbs. Just ready to kick it gear to get the remaining 50 lbs gone. I find it still hard to get in all my Water. How many meals does everyone eat? What is typical day of meals look like for yall? I don't know if I'm not getting enough water/protein in. I will admit the past 2 weekends I've slipped up on my eating n letting so old habits creep back up. I know I shouldn't beat myself up over this since we all make mistakes n I'm still learning. Any advice would be great.

Nope, don't beat yourself up. Slips happen...just move forward. You know what you should eat, so it's a brand new day! :)

I'm 8 months out and I eat 4-6 meals a day. Each meal is 4-5 oz and contains 3 oz Protein with 1-2 oz veggies. My meals are generally 200-250 calories. I try to keep carbs under 10g per meal. I don't eat bread, Pasta, rice, or potatoes. I limit processed foods as much as possible. I don't eat organic because I'm a tightwad, but I do buy fresh meats/veggies as much as possible.

I weigh all my food when I'm preparing my meals to keep me from over-indulging. I eat pretty fast still, so I need to keep my portions below my sleeve capacity.

Best of luck to ya!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
