Living below goal!

Recommended Posts

You wear those boots like you've never been anything other than slim your entire life. If I obtain even half of your success I'll consider it a miracle. Thanks for sharing. It helps to keep my pre op eyes on the prize. Congratulations!

Thank you! That made my day. It's nice when people say that they can't imagine you heavy! Because we know exactly where we came from!

HOLY COW!!! Amazing! You truly are in inspiration! And you are so beautiful in all your pix! Thank you for sharing!!

Thanks Jovie!

Damn girl - you're amazing! I'm so happy for you, and SO inspired by your new fleet-footed life!! I took up running in this WLS journey too, and while i'm only up to five miles so far, i've had great fun running in some trail runs, etc. My goal is to some day do a marathon, but I can't seem to get the miles up that high yet. I'm still at 173 (down from 287!) but i'm a good bit older than you, clearly!

Anyway, just wanted to chime in and thank you for being an inspiration, for sharing your great success, and for reminding us all what fun we get to have in this new way of life. Gread job @jinxxy5!!

Thank you Kate! The secret to getting my miles up was parking my car at the trail start and running out half the distance...the mere thought of how long it would take to walk back kept my feet moving on the way back! The first time I ran 8 miles I had some Hilarious commentary going through my mind! Lol!

Thank you for the suggestion – I've done it once or twice. Though now that I think about it I usually charge my runs on Google pedometer and do my plan, but when I've done and out and back with a goal in mind I did go farther! I think I'll do that at least once a week – definitely good advice. ???? post-203149-14254891024222_thumb.jpg

Hey all! I haven't posted since the very early days out...I was sleeved on 10/2/13 at 273 pounds. I reached goal in 9.5 months which was 159 pounds which would put me at a normal bmi. At about 8 months post op I started running. That was a game changer! I have since completed a triathlon, a 5k, 2 10ks, 4 half marathons, and on January 25th, 2015 I became a marathoner! I went on to lose and additional 20 pounds and I've been maintaining 20 pounds below goal ever since. From a size 22/24 to a size 2/4. I eat clean and train hard! I am really living my best life now!

You are truly inspiring! I'm trying to start an exercise regime and am finding it so difficult to just get started. Any advice?

Oh, @@jinxxy5 !

I just saw this thread. You have done amazing. The difference is like seeing two possible lives in parallel universes.

Yours is one of the most impressive WLS changes I've ever seen!

I don't log in here as much as I used to...I don't have the app due to phone space :-( But thank you all for the support and kind words you have left for me! What an awesome surprise! For those looking to start running I recommend couch to 5k and if you want to lift weights I strongly recommend getting an independent trainer to give you some routines to follow. I found a trainer for $25 per session, and I used her for a few months and now I'm smaller than she is. I took the knowledge I learned from her and did my own research and came up with something that works for me :-)

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
