I think I'm going to start juicing as a supplement to the Isopure, Protein Shakes and Water I've been drinking. I'm just looking for some variation. Anyone juiced post-op and have any problems? I've juiced in the past but not while doing Protein shakes. I did a diet of only protein shakes some years back (doctor supervised) and was told not to juice at the same time because of the high amount of carbs in juices even though it is fresh juice.

I added juice to my Isopure Water and gained weight! It was all natural with no added sugar and only about 4 ounces a day, but it pushed me over on carbs. However, I think I'm really sensitive to carbs. If I want to lose weight, I can only have 10 grams a day. Crazy! You would think after having my stomach cut out that a few good carbs would not make a difference, but they did.

I was warned against juicing too much because you lose a lot of Fiber. My NUT told me though if I don't go overboard, a little juice now and then isn't a bad thing.

See, that's what I was worried about. Dang. Guess I stick to the Isopure, Protein Shakes and water. Thanks!

Juicing gives you concentrated sugar without the Fiber to break it down. Think about how many oranges it takes to make a 6 ounce glass of juice. It might take 4 oranges or more. Would you eat 4+ oranges a day?

A better option is a nutrabullet, ninja or similar which pulverizes the whole fruit instead.

Well when I juice, I do mostly vegetables: kale, spinach, cucumbers, beets, celery and carrots. I add an apple or an orange just for a little sweetness. I like the idea of getting my vegetable servings in abundance this way. I wonder if it would be bad or beneficial to just consume juiced vegetables instead of fruit.< /p>

Your still only getting the sugars. The Fiber is in the pulp.

When I juice; I too add mostly vegetables like kale, spinach, cucumbers, celery, with a few chucks of apple, carrots or beets for the flavor. The pulp that is leftover I never throw away but freeze and then add it to my homemade Soups. I make sure I track the contents of my juice to make sure that I don't exceed my carbs for the day.

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
