Yea well I guess me flushing out my system did the trick cause I loss those annoying two pounds and then two more! yay and I rehired a trainer and start tomorrow so I can get max weight loss! Oh and note to self I might be half Asian but I think I might be giving up the rice part of my life cause I had ONE same sushi roll and I almost died cause of the rice so I guess I will have to just stick to the shashimi part of my life. Kinda sad but hey small sacrifice!

Hello all you losers!

6 weeks post op and I've definitely hit and stayed in a stall. Haven't lost any weight in three weeks but I am not worried. I have lost over 30 inches all over my body and I can tell I'm losing, just not in pounds. HW 266 SW 257 CW. 226. Definitely a roller coaster of a journey but I am focusing on Summer and how smaller, healthier, and energetic I will feel!!!

I heard that drinking Water before going to bed helps flush out the toxins and for us old geezers reduces AM heart attacks.

I've been drinking a 10 oz of water before bed. I figure it will help flush out the fat too.

I do have to get up to pee once or twice and then take another sip of water but I do feel good in the AM.

REGARDING WLS:

What didn't you see coming OR what did they forget to tell you?!!@##%^

For me it was:

  • Water and many foods would taste terrible
  • Brushing my teeth made me vomit
  • Extremely sensitive to smell, I would get nauseous at the grocery store from the smells
  • My cat would eat more than me and I'd still survive

I'm DISGUSTED with myself right this minute. I ate a bit of donut my daughter made. Ugh why why why? I don't even like the smell of sugar so it was weird. I feel kinda sick due to the sugar though so I feel that I won't do it again anytime soon. Bad Roni!

Greetings!

I'm a January 20th sleever, and am having my first meal away from the 3 Stages of Reprogramming. ????

Feeling good, and just made it down to 50 pounds off. (Lots more to go, but a great start.)

Eating slowly, and chewing everything thoroughly, helped a good deal.

Congrats to everyone! Not easy, but worth it in the end.

I love hearing from all of you!

Overall everything has been going very well for me, but a few days ago my trick knee acted up making exercise very difficult till it calms down, and I also just got the flu. My fever has broken and I'm feeling decent today, but bummed I can't walk well. Before my knee acted up I was doing 65 flights of stairs 3 days a week and long walks the other days. I'm missing the exercise and rapid weightloss that goes with it.

Overall, doing great. My high weight wad 310lbs, my surgery weight on Jan 20th was 283lbs and I'm currently down to 247lbs, a total of 63 pounds. My goal weight is 180lbs, so I'm excited that in 2 more pounds I'll reach my half way mark.

I look bizarre walking around in such baggy clothing, but I'm losing so fast I really don't want to buy too many new clothes. I had to buy some new pants cause my old ones were uncomfortable, but all my shirts are several sizes too large.

WOW to both of you. An inspiration.

Keep it up. It is harder than any non-obese person could ever imagine.

@@Eli Alexander Have you thought about using a bike? I have a bum knee and couldnt doing the walking. Biked instead and that takes the pressure off my knee. Good job on the weight loss.

Hi January Sleevers, I am so happy, I finally got my IV line out on Friday (was in SIX mo, for lyme disease) and now I can exercise. Still on antibiotics, still struggle with fatigue but hopefully being able to work out will kick things up a bit.

Plus I'm at a conference in Palm Springs, baby! SO nice to walk in fresh air and get out of the cold.

Yes Veronica, I have been thinking about biking, I just haven't started doing it yet. I actually think, thanks in part to your comment, that I'll get on my bike today. My knee is starting to feel better, and biking should also strengthen the muscles around it, adding stability and lessening chance of tweaking it in the future.

I just wish it were a little warmer outside for biking.

Hi pretties! Happy that many of us are doing so well. I had been having trouble getting motivated to get back to the gym. Well, after a brief respite at Great Wolf Lodge (out of the snow, thank goodness!) I realized that I had gotten a TON of exercise in and had felt great. So that helped kick me into gear. Now I'm back to the gym, working in strength training, and getting "assignments" to do from my personal trainer friends on the days I am working so I don't get glued to my chair. :)

I'm doing much better with food overall, but still having some troubles. Things that are too dense (meats, for instance) are bad news, as is bread. I can have bread in very small doses, but more than that and I'll be either puking or wanting to puke for the rest of the day.

I also am starting to be able to see the differences in my body! My waist nips in now once more, and my belly is deflated. I went through my jeans and made a big pile of those that don't fit any longer and moved on to the ones that used to not zip, which now fit perfectly.

All good things!

Has anyone gotten info on when they're able to have alcohol again? I plan to ask at my next appointment. No biggie, but it would be nice to be able to have a glass of red wine to ward off the chill every now and again... :)

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
