Does running get easier!?

Recommended Posts

There are also exercises you can do... Google it, there are lots of pages with strengthening exercises specific to shin splints. I got a case after my first long run on sand and did the exercises and ICE. Recovered quite quickly.

I realise this is an older thread, but what do you runners do for shin splints? I get them really badly, particularly in my right leg. I stretch (after warming up - no static stretching) and have really good shoes, but nothing seems to help.

I had the issue on the outside of my shins.. Best thing I ever did was get a minimal sole shoe. To correct my gait and also to strengthen the muscles in my feet.. People think I'm crazy.. But I did this after my flat footed husband discovered thin soled shoes and it corrected the intense pain he was having in his feet from fallen arches. He runs also and no longer has pain at all. He thought he would have to get surgery on his feet.

@@jess9395 well that's part of what's so irritating - I went to a runners shoe store and sort of got "fitted" for shoes - I actually under pronate. But it doesn't seem to have made much difference. I've been doing the shin splint exercises as often as I can but that doesn't seem to help either.

@@Chrystee I'll have to check those out.

@@deedadumble How did you figure out if your really were shin splints?

The eBook goes into detail on how to determine what's causing them. Mine were chronic for years and I haven't had them since.

YES!!!!!!

I was a runner at my pre surgery weight (267) and I've started back running about 2 months ago. I am AMAZED at how much easier it is to run without that extra 45 pounds.

Stay with it. It sucks in the beginning but I promise it does get easier.

Hi dear, :)

Being a girl i can completely understand your situation.

We girls are actually too much conscious about our physical appearance & thus we look for the best methods which can make us look slim.

Well!! In my worse situation the only thing that worked for me was dance workout .Following my love for dance I joined the classes and so i got to find positive results within 3 weeks .

Hope you find this suggestion useful

take care :)

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
