I didn't know it, but turns out I love leggings! I went home for Christmas and delved into my sister's closet. She's always been thin and fashionable. After all the compliments I got on this Christmas Eve outfit I went out and bought two pairs of my own...on sale, of course!

The last time I was thin (for twenty minutes) stirrup pants were all the rage. I looked damned good in them with a tunic top. Now I should try leggings. I haven't worn a dress yet because I only own one from twenty years ago, but it's a dressy dress and I'll wear it for a classy evening out this month. I need to buy a pair of dressy shoes. Why I'm so scared about that, I have no idea. Crazy. My foot bones used to hurt so much that only certain flats would work. I went down a shoe size but am still scared to try any kind of heel, even a low one. Back pain was also an issue. Heck, maybe a good New Year's resolution for me is to buy a pair of heels!

Thanks !!! you just never know ordering online for the first time... But the whole outfit was 50% off and free shipping, so I figured I didn't have much to lose... What I would like to find is some good Denim leggings. Anyone?

I think you're gonna like Fabletics. I have two outfits from them. A top, bra and capris and a pair of leggings and a top with a bra built in. The bras do not stretch a whole lot, but they do keep the girls in place. The one I have and the top with the built in bra have removable pads for nipple coverage.

If you don't mind a lower rise I think old navy's rock star jegging is a nice fit. And if you like a zipper and button like real jeans they have it.

I just ordered this outfit in a size 8 for my goal outfit!!! I can't wait to have my surgery!

That's a very classic chic look. Like you should be jet setting about Venice lunching with Amal Clooney or something. (What, I have an active fantasy life..)

I got a gift card to Macy's for Christmas and got a Kenise dress (I didn't see the one I liked online from my first post) but I had been eyeing this one below as well, and it was on sale for $17 (swearsies). I got cobalt blue since I'm a colorful girl. But it is super cute with tights and boots.

I still have a ways to go and a big stomach but I am loving my new sizes, back into boots, leggings, my old clothes ( what I can find). the biggest experiment for me, getting into leather pants and sexier duds. what fun. I discovered born boots and shoes which fit me well and am rocking ebay. I also do a lot of alterations from my favorites moving on down. since I sew a lot it is not so hard. most of the clothes I made I planned to make easy to take in and alter. It is fantastic to wear a 16 again and some mediums. also I found the lessons I learned about eating with the sleeve have really helped my elderly mother who has struggled with anorexia since she got sick. we drink our Premier Protein shakes and try to eat well. I am still looking for a few favorite outfits lost in my storage but am so happy to have fun stuff to wear. onward and downward. now it starts to get good, and I cant wait to get my cute hourglass/small waist back. love sara

Does anyone have this problem with jeans? I have lost a lot of inches off my butt and thighs, but My waist is still larger than my hips. (apple shape) Most women's jeans have a smaller waist. So I am finding jeans that fit my waist are huge and baggy over my rear and thighs.

Any suggestions for a brand that fits?

I have that problem too. I just keep hitting Goodwill every 2-3 weeks and trying on whatever I find. With the stretchy denim I have better luck. My last two successes were Gloria Vanderbilt jeans in 18w and now 16. My weight was changing too rapidly for me to invest in new anything. I'm unfortunately down to my lowest size of Catherine's slinky dress pants (0w) and then I'll have to buy some new slacks for work. I wish those slinkies came in regular sizes. I've worn them for many years. I'm not a skirt person because I have such trouble with shoes.

@@Miaoreo, I have the same issue. My waist is larger than it should be in proportion to my hips. This is partly due to loose skin. I have to buy size 10 jeans and they droop.

I know about GV Jeans... been wearing them for a couple years, trouble is they are hard to find, in 3 trips to GW I have found 3 pairs 12, 14 and an 18. Bought them all... but right now I need 16's! Guess I will head back to GW on my lunch hour!

btw, what is a slinkie?

have you looked into learning to sew or getting a seamstress lady in your town? pants going down one size or two is a pretty easy alteration. try going to the local fabric store and looking at their bulletin board if they have one, or craigs list. you can keep your favorites going. if you sew, just open them up inside out and sew 0.5 inches inward along the seams with matching thread, per size. to make the waist come in, either sew darts or a piece of elastic on the back inside waistband. instructions and tutorials are on pinterest. I could do a whole book on making things bigger and smaller. right now I added a knit panel to my leather pants on the outside seam, voila, sexy pants. love sara

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
