I only like their bars :/

I haven't tried any of the other Quest products but the quest bars have been a staple in my house from day 1. I LOVE them and eat them every day. I buy them by the box instead of individual bars. The only one that I don't like is mixed berry and I'm not crazy about the vanilla almond crunch. My favorites are double chocolate chunk, chocolate chip cookie dough, and white chocolate raspberry. Those are the ones I eat the most of. Sometimes I eat them for Breakfast, in which case, I prefer the banana nut or cinnamon roll. I also keep some of the Peanut Butter & jelly, lemon creme pie, and apple pie on hand. Yes, I really keep some of all of those on hand at all times. I keep them in my locker at work, in my purse, and in my lunch bag that I take to work. I'm never without my quest bars. There have been many times when a quest bar saved me from "cheating" because I didn't have anything better to eat when I was hungry. I LOVE them!

Oh for the love I have for the mighty, infectiously delicious Quest Bar! Every flavor, a small masterpiece. Absolutely the most addicting thing I put in my mouth these days. Eat half? Yeah, I tried that too. I had to cut myself off because I got to where that was just about all I wanted to eat. Three a day. Four. Save one for when I'm on the computer late at night. I will be honest with you. I just about sabotaged myself by ending up with too many carbs in a day ( I'm also diabetic) Even though they are great Protein, sadly, they had to go to the wayside just like so many other tasty things have....

I love these bars. They are so good and anything that has Fiber and a good chunk of Protein is good by me. My favorites are strawberry cheesecake, double chocolate chunk, and apple pie Yum! They are a little pricey but you can get a good value on a 12 count box on Amazon for about 25.00. You can also order them from the Quest site or go to GNC among other places.

The carb count on them is pretty high. I read an article that said that the Fiber count on them is wrong.

I do eat them and love them, but I don't eat them every day. I prefer Power Crunch bars. 9 carbs.

Thanks for all the great advice! I am 4 weeks post op and I am going on a 10 day vacation and very nervous about eating during that time. I am concerned about getting proper Protein for my meals. My nutritionist told me to find some good Protein Bars to bring along just in case I had a hard time finding a good protein option for a meal. When I read this yesterday, I immediately ordered several to take with me to try.

If you go online you can order individual packets of U njury Protein Shakes. I took these to Italy with me. So glad I did. A half bottle of Water and one packet and it saved me for breakfast a few times.

I think I must be the only person that didn't like them. After all the good reviews, I went to GNC and bought two of all the bars that looked appealing to me.. but I just did not care for them at all. The flavor was ok for what it was, but I was not happy with the texture at all and I'm usually into dense foods. I've had Clif bars, Luna bars, etc. and didn't have a problem with them.. I was actually pretty disappointed that I didn't like them as much as everyone else. I ended up throwing half of them away.

White chocolate raspberry is my favorite by far. I also like cookie dough and vanilla almond. I can't eat a whole one, though. Something about all that fiber/protein at one time makes me nauseous.

Oh I should add while I do eat them they are in the process of being sued for incorrect nutrition information, they may have more carb, calories, less fiber ect...then what they are claiming. You will have to look up the lawsuit to see.

Love Quest bars! My favorites have changed, so I highly recommend revisiting some if you don't like them at first. I didn't like the white choc. raspberry one, and now it's my favorite! chocolate chip cookie dough was my favorite, and now I find it a bit too salty. I order mine from luckyvitamin.com, which lets you order by bar or by box, and it's still the same $2.09/bar.

My husband is a Quest bar hater, because he doesn't like the texture. Basically it's Protein powder held together with a thick fiber Syrup. But he likes them cooked/incorporated into another recipe.

These are delish!! I've made them a whole bunch of times..

Quest Bar Peach (or Cherry) Cobbler (4 servings)

Ingredients:

Crumble:

Filling:

  • 2 medium peaches or 37 cherries

  • 1 scoop Protein Powder (I use Body Fortress Vanilla - 30 grams of protein/scoop)

  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

Optional Topping:

  • 2 tablespoons Fat Free whipped cream

Method:

Preheat oven (I use a tabletop toaster oven) to 400 degrees. Roll Quest Bar out with rolling pin (I put the bar in a folded piece of wax paper so it doesn't stick to the pin), spray pan, and bake for 3 minutes or until slightly browned and crisped. Remove from oven and cool. Reset oven to 350 degrees. Meanwhile, stir together the peaches, Protein Powder, stevia and cinnamon. Divide between 4 small ramekins. Take the Quest Bar and pulse in a mini blender FIRST then add coconut oil, butter extract and sweetener. Stir in dry oats. Sprinkle on top of the peaches. Bake for 15 minutes.

Pro: 13.75; Cal: 126.5 (peach) or 135.5 (cherry); Carb: 8.5 (peach) or 10.5 (cherry); Fat: 3.5

Fat Free Whipped Cream: 0 - 5 - 1 - 0

There are many more recipes. Check out Quest's "cheat clean" videos!

Like I mentioned before, Quest Bars are basically Protein powder with a fiber syrup. It's called VitaFiber, which you can order from here: http://vitafiber.myshopify.com/. I haven't tried them yet, but there are a whole bunch of options for making your own "Quest" bars.

Pecan Pie Quest bar

- 1/4 cup caramel flavored protein powder

- 2 tbsp VitaFiber

- 7 pecans

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1/2 baby cookie, crumbled into small pieces

They have to be microwaved. They are horrible if you don't microwave them first. It's only about 10 sec in the microwave and they go from disgusting to delicious.

I read that story awhile ago about the law suit regarding their claims of the fiber count.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
