You will be FINE. The hardest part is when you are waiting. You'll sleep through the whole thing and when you wake up, you'll get the "good stuff" so you'll spend the next couple of days feeling good! Just know that you'll have gas/air to deal with, but that passes. I've had many types of surgery and it's always the best sleep ever!

I was so excited that I didn't sleep at all the night before. It is normal to be nervous but you will be soooo happy with the outcome, and the actual surgery becomes a distant memory! Best of luck to you!

How much have u lost @april. I hope I do well I feel very unprepared but I just think it's nerves.

I've lost 27 pounds since starting the preop diet. (HW 250 )12 of those pounds since surgery, so about a pound per day post op. i'm sure you'll do great!!

I was scared because I had cheated some on the pre-op diet.. but it didn't matter. I had done the last 24 hours perfectly so there was no problem!

I didnt know my surgery date until 5 days before... Until then, I had really been half-assing the pre-op diet. Then of course, I had to have my last hamburger (which of course wasn't really the last.. but I panicked lol). My surgery was on a tuesday and I didn't really get "with it" until Sunday.. I was afraid I was going to get cancelled but I hadn't gained any weight since my pre-op appointment. It was a non issue

I plan on reading a lot of inspirational threads on here and creating threads to keep me on track. Did you do that?

I wish... I didn't read anything here until I was already home from the hospital. I didn't want to join any groups and get my hopes up...i dealt only with my Dr office. Now I love the support groups.

You will be fine I got home from the hospital today. I was also nervous before. My only advice is stay on tract,and force yourself to get up and start walking believe me you'll thank yourself later you will boost your healing process. Any questions please ask that's what all of us are here for we all need support (buddies) to help each other succeed

        Hello Joset, why haven't you been given a diet plan? Did you have your surgery in the UK? Every surgeon has a different diet, and no two people are on the same one. Weird I know. Contact your team if you can

        Mine was two weeks clear liquids

        Two weeks on soups, milk shakes and broths all with out lumps

        two weeks on pureed foods { I couldn't stomach this step }

        two weeks on soft foods like Protein yogurt, stewed mince and veg, soft scrambled eggs. Pate on hard crackers

        Then onto any food I fancied. If you struggle on any step or with any foods go back a step for a few days. Eggs, salmon and chicken are hard for beginners.

        Sorry I missed your original post, hope you are still on here.
