Is their anyone that's scared to get rid of their old clothes... I'm scared I'm going to gain my weight back... so I feel the need to hold on

You're not alone. I did get rid of all of my really big stuff but I've been holding onto sizes 14 and under. It's not that I'm setting myself up to fail, it's more that I'm a realist and if I do slip up in the future I sure as hell don't want to have to shop for bigger clothes. I hope I never have to open the box.

I just packed up two huge bags of clothes and took them to goodwill. I too was hanging on, thinking these don't look that bad on me...WRONG. I even found smaller clothes in the back of the closet-sadly for those clothes they are on their way to a new home.

I decided that if I get rid of the big clothes it forces me to keep on track. I have made it a new game-when will my new clothes become too big. :D

Im going to hang on to a set and look at them periodically when needed to remind myself how far I've come. I haven't had surgery yet but I have lost weight in the past and I want to never struggle again. Maybe a reminder of what size 16 looks like when I get to my goal size of 6 will help me remain on track?

I just boxed up 2x/20 winter clothing in hopes of donating it to shelters next fall. One thing to keep in mind ladies if you have nice office or interview type clothing... Women's shelters that take clothing donations usually get a lot of small sizes, but are usually looking for nice clothing in larger sizes. This way someone else wins when we lose.

Nope. Some things I'm sad to let go of because I liked them and didn't feel as thought I got to wear them enough. But I gave away 6 bins of clothes to someone I know who needed them. I feel great about that. And even know I have a bag near my closet every time I wear something that is sort of too baggy, I toss it in the give away bag. It's a great feeling! I did keep one outfit (that I would wear to work) to show me how far I've come. Be happy! this is what we wanted! New body! New us! New clothes!

I know I have picked out some dresses that I am in love with and I hope I can get them altered...

I think my issue mainly is that it is hard to find clothes that I like, fit properly and feel great in.

But maybe by then time I want to wear them I will find something equally cute.

I know I will have big girl syndrome because I already have a off sense of what my size is. Actually I always have.

I'm in a 2/3 in most brands now, I did keep my 4/6's but only to use while I recover from my lbl. I know that with swelling and the compression garments I will need a little more room. But as soon as I am healed they are GONE. I will not ever go back to my plus sized clothes.

I'd been getting rid of some things slowly, but recently, I went through all of the drawers and closets. I was going to have a BIG GIRL yardsale, but I don't have the time to do it or the room to store that many clothes until I do. I have taken some of the nicer things to a consignment shop and have some more to take this fall. I ended up with 8 HUGE bags of clothes, which weighed over 165 pounds!!!! That's a LOT of clothes.

I did save a couple of pair of pants from my heaviest so that when I feel like I'm not making any progress, I can try them on and make a comparision. I was also sorting a pile of things that I could alter and still wear. As the pile grew, I decided to be ruthless and not keep a bunch of my fat clothes, even if they are sized down. I didn't want to look in the mirror and still see the fattest version of myself in those old clothes. I did keep a feel tops and sun dresses from last summer that i was able to easily alter to fit my new, smaller shape. They are flattering on me, so I fixed them. The rest have will have a happier home with someone who shops at the local Hospice clothing store. I had a lot of nice clothes and hard to find styles. I'm hoping that some Big Beautiful woman will find them and be thrilled to wear them.

Check the local chapter section, there may be a local peer to peer meeting that will have a clothing exchange.

I was just thinking about getting rid of some clothes. I bought my first new outfit last weekend. Started this journey a size 26 and discovered I'm between departments! Most plus sizes are too big and normal size 18 is too small. I'm thrilled to have this problem! Down 70 pounds in 16 weeks!!!

I can't wait to get rid of all my plus size clothing. I already found a place to donate my dressy stuff for women who need clothes for interviews and starting in the workforce! I also found a Muslim women's shelter to donate all my plus size islamic clothing!!! I can't wait!!!

I was terrified to get rid of my old clothes. Believe it or not I continued to wear my too big clothes because I did not want to buy new one because I just knew I would need them again. But once I realized I wouldn't need them anymore it was a relief to get rid of them I did keep one pair of pants and one shirt to remind me of where I do not want to be again.

I have gone thru my closets and drawers and got rid of everything that was to big. I still have stuff to shrink down into in my closets. And I have bought me some new stuff too. My body is changing and I want to feel good in what I am wearing.

I have kept a pair of my biggest capris I was wearing right up until surgery. I am so hoping to one day take a pic in them where I am standing in one leg only. :D

I know not all can afford to buy new stuff as we shrink so quickly but I am a firm believer in you look and feel so much better in clothes that fit.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
