Random suggestion

Recommended Posts

So my sister had the sleeve done in August and she randomly sent me a corky message yesterday giving me a suggestion so I thought I would throw it out there for everyone!

You all may have heard it but if not... She suggested I invest in some baby utensils or shrimp forks to help keep my bites smaller when I can start eating again! Seemed like a good idea to me! Even now being over 8 months out she said she still uses the shrimp fork most of the time!

Also my dr office sells a divided plate for $17. They have the same size plate and same divisions sizes for $1 at the dollar general or Walmart, only thing is they are kids and come in like Dora, sponge bob, Spider-Man, etc... She recommends getting those as well as saving a few $ if ya don't mind the kids theme. My kids thought it was great cuz I would be using plates like them :)

Three months out I still use my smal utensils almost daily for something. This helps to keep my bites small even if it is just to remind me that I need to be mindful that Miss Tummy likes a little pampering.

I'll take the Spiderman plate please. :-P It will go well with my Captain America sippy cup.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
