Does anyone know of a good fat free mayo?

Recommended Posts

I am a Hellman's girl but they don't seem to have a fat free. They have a light and an olive oil one but I can't find a fat free. Does anybody know of a good one?

Why are you buying fat free? Instead of fat, they add sugar which increases the carbs. Fat keeps you fuller longer and assuming you are not spooning it in your piehole ( :) ), you probably aren't eating buckets of it.

Eat real food, just eat less of it.

I haven't been able to find fat free but that is what the NUT told me to buy. I will have to compare labels. Thanks for the tip!

Sometimes Nut can pigeon hole you into a category they derived from some book somewhere by some skinny author. I would give alot more credence to the advice you garner from the ones on here with real life experience.

Plus the fat free mayo is really gross.

The Olive Oil one is actually good. I am a condiment queen - love my mayo. The fat free is gross. If I can't have a small amount of olive oil, or real mayo, or real butter, it's not worth it! All that stuff is so over processed anyway. I did find that the blended mustards (can't remember the name of it but it's like a spicy mustard/mayo blend) are really good and are super low in calories.

This is what I give my Mayonnaise addicted husband now and he likes it. I also use it for tuna salad.

As a diabetic, I do not buy anything that is fat free, they usually have more sugar in them and I do not like the taste. I do use Hellman's lite Mayonnaise, been using it for years and it is good. My nutritionist gave me lists as guidelines and on it is 3 oz. tuna with 2 teaspoons lite mayonnaise. The list she gave me is from the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery center at Brigham & Faulkner Women's Hospital in Boston, MA. Hope this helps.

My nut recommended light Hellmans, which is what we already used, maybe use that and cut with some Greek yogurt? My nut said no fat free anythingn bc it's loaded with sugars, everyhinf in moderation!

My NUT said light or olive/canola oil is acceptable. I like olive oil.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
