I wanted to take a poll a consensus if you will of the veteran bandsters. What does your daily food consumption consist of? I'm 3wks 1 day post op and i'm getting close to the regular food stage in about another week. Thanks in advance. :-)

I just eat normal healthy food. Last night it was salmon on brown rice with black Beans. Night before was chicken breast on spaghetti squash with bruschetta sauce. Night before that was a 6 oz 96%non-fat burger with a salad.

Breakfast is usually an egg beater omelet with a splash of cheese and turkey sausage, or a real egg with ham and slice of cheese of flat bread.< /p>

lunch is usually leftovers. Today it was half a red stuffed pepper. The fun part of this whole thing is how well we eat. Sure, pizza, ice cream, fried foods are gone, but I don't give a rip anymore.

Thanks 2muchfun. Sounds great! I'm still mushing around and still really don't have a big appetite. I guess I'll get to a stable appetite soon.

Most mornings for me consist of a home made Protein shake. Usually its Half a banana, cup of almond milk (unsweetened), scoop of 20g chocolate Protein powder, and some ice. Into the ninja. Rarely, I'll have oatmeal or grits. That will keep me satisfied until lunch.

lunch may consist of deli meat or grilled fish, tuna salad or homemade lentil Soup. With some crackers and cheese. Possibly some cottage cheese.< /p>

DInners usually are solid Protein like fish, chicken, rarely some beef (done in the crockpot), with a salad, or some broccoli, or other veggie.

I probably eat fish/seafood 10 times a week.

Starfish, notice that the two above did not mention a lot of bread style carbs. I think this is huge to success. I'm only three months out, so I'm not really a veteran, but I'm losing really well.

I eat hard boiled eggs or paleo egg muffins for breakfast. For lunch, I usually have tuna salad made with lite mayo and either an apple or melba crackers. Sometimes I have a salad with lots of veggies and add nuts or seeds. Top with fat free vinaigrette. dinner is fish or pork tenderloin or chicken with a veggie. Eaten off of a small plate. I do have Chinese food about once a week, but I don't get anything fried and eat only about 1/4-1/2 cup of rice.

And... exercise, exercise, exercise! 4 days a week.

Hi starfish. gosh I love your name...gotta tell us what it means. anyway, I don't know that I'm a veteran but I am nearly 14 months post banded so I figured I'd respond. yes...protein Protein Protein. I supplement my daily food intake with a glass of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein Powder in Water so I can keep my protein at or above 60 grams. Breakfast is sometimes eggs but also oatmeal or cream of wheat. (very convenient to bring the packets to work) lunch and dinner almost always the same in that I eat 3 oz protein, 1/2 cup veggies, 1/4 cup carbs or if I crave a sandwich, obviously no additional carbs at that meal. bread is always a bagel thin or the thin sliced wheat bread...or low carb/low calorie wraps. I also eat mostly fish and chicken and when I eat meat, it's either filet mignon (because it's soft) or chopped meat (like a meatball or meatloaf). I also have dessert 'cause I do have a sweet tooth. usually it's SF Jello, or SF pudding, or 100 calorie Klondike bars. I also have some fruit as well. Sugar is high but everything in moderation is how this gal works it. Good luck...I'm sure you'll do great.

Hi! I am a huge Prince fan!! Starfish n coffee is the title to one of his songs. Check it out!

Thanks for the input. You are definitely a veteran as i am only 3wks and 2days post-op. Today started my easing into regular foods. I just wanted to make sure i had some type of "guide" of my fellow "bandits". Thanks again.

I am 3 months post op and I am usually not hungry until 2 pm. My bad eating seems to happen at night with Girl Scout Cookies as of lately! I have had some serious "taste" changes since my surgery. I don't seem to "like" the same foods I used to. Very strange.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
