Stomach Size....growing?

Recommended Posts

I am a bit over 3 months out, lately....I feel like I can eat more. It is scary...and I have not lost for almost 2 weeks and I had just broken a stall a few days before this one.

Has anyone else had this happen?

I have been thinking this, too. If I remember right, our surgery dates are close (I was 11/14/13).

I can definitely eat more than a month ago. But here's what I experimented with lately - if I use my Eat Slower app and set it to 45 seconds between bites, not only do I chew more and slow down, I eat less. Eating in a more calm mental state, allows me to more easily identify when I'm full.

Another thing I keep thinking of when I eat - I only want to eat enough to rid myself of the hunger, not eat until I'm full. There's a difference. I have to remind myself to pay attention. Eating slower and chewing more helps.

I think in the past few weeks, I allowed myself to get off track. Nothing bothers my sleeve, so I can just about anything.

I was sleeved about a month before you two and about a month ago I went through a few weeks where I was eating 1300-1400 calories a day. Scared the crap out of me! Then I just couldn't. Now I'm back down to 600-800 calories a day again. I don't know, Weird. ..

At approaching 6 months out, I can eat 1200 calories plus without a second thought. It really is scary.

I have resorted to using MyFitnessPal to make sure I hold myself accountable.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
