Intimacy with partner

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was just curious how long people have waited before being intimate with their partner after being sleeved? I has a band removal & revision to the gastric sleeve. My left side is definitely still sore & I worry how uncomfortable any movement (you know what I mean) will feel.

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,

Fran

I was told 1 month after I had mine done. The first time I was really really worn out. More so then I was with extra weight.

I'm 3 months out and we haven't yet. But..we have 2 small kids and I have a mild complication that has kept me from feeling all that great yet.

I waited 2 weeks. I wasn't sore any more and was cleared to drive too!

One week...but the answer is when you feel up to it. :-)

I was told whenever I felt up to it. Just no swinging from the trapeze or circus acts. 4 days for me. No problem. It was actually quite nice as it was very slow and sensuous.

We waited 3 weeks and it was fabulous! I think as soon as you feel up to it, you can.

I think we waited about 3 weeks because the incision where they actually removed my stomach was extremely sore and hurt so much when I exerted myself (even just walking around) and would throb. it still feels tender which I press it. Even now, I am afraid to put too much pressure on it, so I'm always on top

Cindy Quebedeaux Breaux,

I know exactly what you mean. Between work and taking care of the house and husband--Jeez, I'm to tired to even think of it. I don't even have children. I don't know how you moms do it? Work at home or outside the home, take care of children, household and husband? I have a great amount of admiration for you.

I also suffer from depression and take Zoloft--which doesn't exactly help the libido.

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer to your question. The only time my hubbie and I are intimate is on the weekends. We almost have to schedule it so that we're both rested and up to it. My husband is 100% disabled so he has to be up to it too---no pun intended ; ). We waited over 5 weeks after my surgery, even though my surgeon didn't put any restrictions on when we could "get busy".

Blessings,

Kathleen

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
