Went to my pcp today. He did some blood work, but sort of blew me off. I hope I can get him to refer me to an endo. I have suspected thyroid issues for a while and have ALL the symptoms. My mom told me a few days ago she has never seen anyone with skin as dry as mine! It's actually scaly! Is that how it's spelled? You get my drift! I've complained about crippling fatigue, heart palpitations, hair issues, etc.... Thanks for all the replies and concern. I was afraid I was over reacting. I had one lady tell me it's just my age. As we age we get these places on our arms! I'm a young 50!it just started all of the sudden too!

You should to go to the Dr for exam and lab work. See your PCP.

Check with your insurance. They nsy not require you to get a referral. If not, contact the endocrinologist you choose and ask them if they require a referral. A lot of them will not. You may not need your PCP. I have hypothyroidism & my PCP would only run the TSH. My level was 2.1, but I had every classic symptom. I found an endocrinologist that ran extensive testing. He said not everybody's "normal" range is the same. My endo was my life saver.

If your CBC was normal did they do a Vitamin panel? Vitamin k deficiency? Or Calcium? Those things are part of our ability to clot blood. As is the liver. Are those number normal?

Also, forget how far out you are, but some people have a weird reaction to heparin HIT, heparin induced thrombocytopenia. I'd skip the PCP and go straight to the surgeon.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
