Breast lift with implants today 10/22/13

Recommended Posts

Hey all! I already wrote this and thought I posted it, but I guess it didn't work! Hate it when that happens!

So I had the surgery this morning at 7 am. It took 4 hours. My implant size was 457 cc's . That sounds like a lot, but they ended up being only slightly bigger then my original ones. They are so full! Pain is minimal compared to what my Tummy Tuck pain was like. They are so perky! ;) I am so thankful for Percocet!!! Well if there is anyone out there who needs/ wants to know anything just message me! Good luck to you all! Hope everyone can come out of their surgeries as well as I have! :)

Glad to hear you're doing well. Pics when you can would be great, but I'm assuming you need to keep everything wrapped up for a while :)

When I came out of being under with my Tummy Tuck I was crying for my husband. I wasn't in very much pain, but was emotional. When I came to today not only was I crying for my hubby, but I was in so much pain! They gave me something in my iv that helped a little, but then fed me crackers so that they could give me Percocet. After they gave me the Percocet it took about 20 minutes before I could tolerate the pain. I felt really heavy, and my pain level was at about an 8! Once the Percocet did its job I felt great. I am able to lift my arms just fine, and the pain I feel now is more like soreness from an impending period. I am extremely swollen right now. I was able to see some of my new tatas when I needed a dressing change. They are so round, and perky! I love them already and I just can't wait till I get to see them for real! My hubby loves them already! IMy head is spinning in disbielief that I finally have my plastics done! I feel like a completely different person then I was at the beginning of this journey! I just can't believe that I have gotten everything out of this journey that I wanted. I feel sooooooo lucky right now!

I have made a pact with myself to always live my life to the fullest.....starting with today!:) if anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask....even if it is in a private message! ;)

Congrats Sassygirl. I bet you're glad to be over and done with the surgeries. You'll heal up quickly.....you've already been through this so you know what's involved. This will certainly be easier than the TT. Best of luck and I'm glad you're happy with the results.

So far it's looking like I will be a 38 ddd. I was already a dd so I'm not that much bigger, just a whole lot perkier. They are pretty bruised up right now, and still really swollen. I hadn't had much pain until today. I fell asleep wrong where I had my left arm up to high. My hubby came in to move me and when he did I had a pain unlike I have ever had before! It was worse then giving birth! It felt like I had a large hot poker being shoved up through my upper arm through my armpit and into my left breast. I have never screamed so loudly in my life! My poor husband thought I was going to die. He almost called an ambulance. I couldn't move or be moved for about five minutes. Then finally I had to pull up my big girl panties, counted 3,2,1 and had my husband help me off of the bed quickly. When I got up the pain subsided enough for me to gain my composure. I immediately called my surgeon to tell him what happened and after I described it to him he said he believed I had a muscle spasm and that I needed to take it easier. I have had a couple more quick sharp pains like that one since, but they have been easy to go through since they were quick.

I am going to try and upload some pictures to my gallery today if it is working now. The recovery from the breast augmentation with lift has been much easier then the recovery from the Tummy Tuck. I am very thankful that I did not get both surgeries at the same time! I just think it would have been way to hard of a recovery. :)

Am considering mines and want to find the best price and doctor.

My Tummy Tuck was $7500.... My breast lift with silicone implants was $8600. I went through a local plastic surgeon. His name is Dr. wally Hosn. He is wonderful! I would recommend him to anyone. After my surgery he gave me his home phone number to call for any problems. He also called me after both of my surgery's to make sure I was doing ok. I have never had a doctor be so through, and kind! As far as the scars go...he doesn't use sutures or stitches, or staples. He uses tape so that your scars are minimal. After only 6 weeks post op from a tummy tuck, and 4 days post op from my breast surgery I am still raving about this doctor!

No it wasn't covered. They had a very specific clause in my plan that says no skin removal for any reason. I was very fortunate to have a husband who loves me very much....and saw how much it would mean to me to have plastics done and so therefore paid for me to have them done. I only paid $45 for my sleeve so I guess I can't really complain about having to pay for plastics. Even if I had to pay for them for the rest of my life they would have still been worth every penny! :)

Congratulations on all your TT and your breast lift too! Wow you look amazing!! Yay for hubby who loves their wives enough to see them through all the plastic's and support you all the way!!

Curious why did you go with silicone instead of the saline? And are you pain free now?

So I guess after gastric bypass surgery, I cant eat flock chips because they are fried???  They sell them on here so I thought I could have them. So high in protein and no carbs.  They don't bother me at all.  Help.

It's possible for a very high fat meal to cause dumping in some (30% or so) gastric bypass patients, although it's more likely to be triggered by high sugar, or by the high fat/high sugar combo (think ice cream, donuts). Dietitians will tell you to never do anything that isn't 100% healthy ever again. Realistically, you should aim for a good balance of protein, carbs, and fat each day. Should you eat fried foods every day? No. Is it possible they will make you sick? Maybe. Is it okay to eat some to see what happens and have them for a treat every now and again? Yes.

I'm not at all hungry on this liquid pre-op diet, but I miss the sensation of chewing. It's been about two weeks––surgery is in two days––and I can't imagine how I'll feel a couple of weeks post-op. Tonight, I randomly stumbled upon a mukbang channel on YouTube, and it was strangely soothing... is it just me, or is this a thing?

I actually watched cooking shows during my pre-op, like Great British Baking Show. It was a little bizarre, but didn't make me hungry. I think it was also soothing in a way.

How do you figure out what your ideal weight should be? I've had a figure in my head for years, but after 3 mths of recovery I'm already almost there. So maybe my goal should be lower?

Well, there is actually a formula for "Ideal Body Weight" and you can use a calculator to figure it out for you. This one also does an adjusted weight for a person who starts out overweight or obese. https://www.mdcalc.com/calc/68/ideal-body-weight-adjusted-body-weight

I would use that as a starting point, and then just see how you feel as you lose. How you look and feel is more important than a number.

      2. Clueless_girl

I did find different calculators but I couldn't find any that accounted for body frame. But you're right, it is just a number. It was just disheartening to see that although I lost 60% of my excess weight, it's still not in the "normal/healthy" range..

      3. NickelChip

I think it's important to remember that the weight charts and BMI ranges were developed a very long time ago and only intended to be applied to people who have never been overweight or obese. Those numbers aren't for us. When you are larger, especially for a long time, your body develops extra bone to support the weight. Your organs get a little bigger to handle the extra mass. Your entire infrastructure increases so you can support and function with the extra weight. That doesn't all go away just because you burn off the excess fat. If you still had a pair of jeans from your skinniest point in life and then lost weight to get to the exact number on the scale you were when those jeans fit you, chances are they would be a little baggy now because you would actually be thinner than you were, even though the scale and the BMI chart disagree. When in doubt, listen to the jeans, not the scale!

Tomorrow marks two weeks since surgery day and while I'm feeling remarkably well and going about just about every normal activity, I did wind up with a surface abscess on on of my incision sights and was put on an antibiotic that made me so impacted that it took me more than two hours to eliminate yesterday and scared the hell out of me. Now there's Miralax in all my beverages that aren't Smooth Move tea. I cannot experience that again. I shouldn't have to take Ativan to go to the lady's. I really looking forward to my body getting with the program again.
I'm in day three of the "puree" stage of eating and despite the strange textures, all of the savory flavors seem decadent.
I timed this surgery so that I'd be recovering during my spring break. That was a good plan. Today is a state holiday and the final day of break. I feel really strong to return to school tomorrow.

Now that I'm in maintenance mode, I'm getting a into a routine for my meals. Every day, I start out with 8-16 ounces of water, and then a proffee, which I have come to look forward to even the night before. My proffees are simply a black coffee with a protein powder added. There are three products that I cycle through: Premier Vanilla, Orgain Vanilla, and Dymatize Vanilla.
For second breakfast on workdays, I will have a low-fat yogurt with two tablespoons of PBFit and two teaspoons of no sugar added dried cherries. I will have ingested 35-45 grams of protein at this point between the two breakfasts, with 250-285 calories, and about 20 carbs.
For second breakfast on non-workdays, I will prepare two servings of plain, instant oatmeal with a tablespoon of an olive oil-based spread. This means I will have had 34 grams of protein, 365 calories, and 38 carbs. Non-workdays are when I am being very active with training sessions, so I allow myself more carbohydrate fuel.
Snacks on any day are always mixed nuts, even when I am travelling. I will have 0.2 cups of a blend that I make myself. It consists of dry roasted peanuts, cashews, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pistachios, and Brazil nuts. This is 5 grams of protein, 163 calories, and 7 carbs.
Breakfast and snacks have been the easiest to nail down. Lunch and dinner have more variables, and I prepare enough for leftovers. I concentrate on protein first, and then add vegetables. Typically tempeh, tofu, or Field Roast products with roasted or sautéed vegetables. Today, I will be eating leftovers from last night. Two ounces of tempeh with four ounces of roasted vegetables that consist of red and yellow sweet peppers, sweet potatoes, small purple potatoes, zucchini, and carrots. I will add a tablespoon of olive oil-based spread, break up 3 walnuts to sprinkle of top, and garnish with two tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese. This particular meal will be 19 grams of protein, 377 calories, and 28 grams of carbs. Bear in mind that I do eat more carbs when I am not working, and I focus on ingesting healthy carbs instead of breads/crackers/chips/crisps.
It's a helluva journey and I'm thankful to be on it!
