Good for you making those changes! I gave up sugar 4 weeks pre-op. The week after that, I substituted a shake for one meal daily. Then I did two weeks of proper pre-op. Felt like the worst of the withdrawals were over well before surgery. Hardest for me was caffeine!

You're going to do great with the changes you've already made.

Thank you so much! That means the world to me. I looked at it as if I'm going to change I might as well start now. I found out that I needed to get my mind straight first. Once I got that in order and made my decision I was good to go. The withdrawal from the soda was the worst. I used to drink 2 or more 2 liter bottles a day. I have no idea how in the world I did that for so long. lol These days I feel great!

I'm so embarrassed by my before pics and I'm not even half way yet' date=' but thought I'd be brave, and share where I'm at. I'm 5'6, HW 230, CW 195 so 35 lbs down.

Went to see my PCP. The whole office gets excited when one of us has an appt because we usually accompany each other, and they're DYING to see our weight loss. :)

The doc said my husband and I had already had more success than some of her sleeved patients EVER see. That was a sobering thought and should scare us all into being diligent.

She congratulated us on being so proactive about it and said that our focus on health and activity was good because the people who put it back on are invariably focused on a short-term goal like fitting into a dress or going to a reunion.

She ordered me to stop obsessing, stop being as type A as I was, and to cut myself some slack. So I will try :) And my thyroid meds were reduced for the second time since surgery. Yay!

Ok I've blabbed long enough to delay posting my picture but here it goes.[/quote']

Look at you. You look great keep up the good work

Omg I'm so relieved about that! I thought it would take forever. It was the biggest part of me! My husband says it makes my breasts look more prominent. Which is good coz I have small ones to start with and they need all the prominent they can get! :)

Thank you! I'm struggling with the exercise a bit too. I have RA and I've had two bad flare ups since the surgery where it's hard to do much of anything, not even 1/4 of a mile those days. I guess we'll just have to learn patience eh?

R.A. really sucks. Sorry to hear that. Yes, we must practice patience. Patience grasshopper, patience!

you look fantastic ! Less than a week now until my husband and I have the surgery ( next Tues) he has lost almost 14lb on the pre op and I have lost almost 7lb. I think this will be the norm for us I think I had better get used to him being the weight loss rock star through out this journey ha ha. I'm always checking in to see how you guys are going because your both so inspirational. Keep going your doing a great

You are looking great Gamergirl! So much progress in so little time. :). Funny what you said about your boobs being more prominent now...fiddleman said something like that to me the other night. I was wearing a new t-shirt and I asked how it fit- he said it looked a bit tight. I was puzzled because it didn't feel tight at all to me. Then he said that maybe it was just because the part across my chest was "tight" and that my boobs were sticking out more! Lol. It feels nice to lead with your chest and not with your stomach anymore! Great job!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
